This is very much a place where you can believe the hype & like other reviewers before me, I’m struggling to find original superlatives to describe our stay. I’ve traveled in 80+ countries & this place ranks in my top 5 B&Bs without a doubt. John is a marvellous host, knows how to make your Iguacu experience smooth & easy, makes fabulous cocktails and is a real gentleman. It was a real pleasure staying here.

Secret Garden is definitvely the place to stay when in Puerto Iguazu. The rooms are clean and the staff is very friendly. The morning starts with a great breakfast, so that one is ready to see the spectacular cataratas. In the evening at around 7 one is free to join the Caipirinha experience with the first drink offered. And the Caipis are highly to recommend. John is an interesting and very bright host. He has many stories to tell. He even wrote a book about the region of Iguazu. Ask him about it.

We read the good reviews about John's Secret Garden before booking, and we were not disappointed. The B&B is lovely and comfortable like a home. It is artistically decorated and the garden attracts beautiful birds. My son had fun with John's dog. Breakfast includes fruits and juice and tasty toasts. John is like an old friend, arranged all picking up, sending off, crossing the border to Brazil, and made everything so easy for us in a foreign town. The driver that works with John is a lovely lady who was also very helpful. John also gave us a little tour around the town when we arrived, and arranged a small happy hour with nice cocktail (he made by himself) for all the guests. We met a very nice French couple at the B&B and had dinner and fun conversations together at a nearby restaurant. Similar people appreciate the same things.
Only issue we had was the electricity outlet in Argentina did not match our charging cable. So we could not charge our phone/camera. John does have adapters, but I did not ask him about it. Just make sure you bring your own adapters or ask John for one.response / report this review -

John is the perfect host. From arranging the taxis to pick us up from the airport and then to run us around Iguazu during our stay. He has created a mini tropical paradise in the back garden, where you are in touching distance of the humming birds which feed there. The place is tranquil and relaxing and as mentioned by the other guests, the breakfast sets you up for your day and the cocktails in the afternoon is the perfect way to unwind. Nothing was to much trouble for John and his team.

We loved staying at the Secret Garden. John is such a wonderful host. He recommended a great driver for us and he gave us a tour of the town on the day we arrived. The rooms were very nice and the entire area was exactly what we were looking for (very relaxing and beautiful).
The service was great. The breakfast was always a great start to the day and two free caipirinhas with snacks in the evening was great. John was also nice enough to recommend some great restaurants and call ahead for reservations.

My husband and I stayed at The Secret Garden for 3 nights while visiting Iguazu Falls. We arrived after almost 24 hours of travel and were so glad that there was someone there to meet us at the airport. In lieu of dinner that night the caipirinhas and appetizers John served were perfect. John, our host, helped us plan our visit and gave us great advice regarding our visits to the National Park. The hospitality of John and his staff made us feel right at home and were far better than staying at an impersonal hotel. If we ever have the opportunity to return to Iguazu, we will stay at the Secret Garden.

Great host as others have said. Arranged transfers for both Brazilian and Argentina falls and airports. Great caipirinhas included as well. Rooms clean spacious and comfortable.
