  This is an incredibly beautiful and special area of the Andes. At this checkpoint you can continue to drive after showing ID and car registration. The guards were very nice and helpful. We did it in a small rental car (Nissan) which was possible, but a 4x4 wouldn't hurt! We drove 5km after the checkpoint then turned around, as we weren't sure our car could do the rest! Totally worth it, one of our favourite experiences in Argentina.

  É um posto militar, não sei se funciona como refúgio, horários para entrar das 08:00 as 20:00 h.

  Luego de algunos kilómetros (12,5 km desde el Manzano Histórico) se llega al formidable Refugio Alferez Portinari de Gendarmería nacional donde es el final del viaje para los vehículos comunes, de allí en más solo pueden seguir los todo terreno. 2520msn.
