English-speakers: the tour is in Spanish, but it's fun and a good way to practice if you're learning here. Our guide spoke pretty good English too, so you can ask questions in English. There's not a lot to look at but it's historically interesting anyway. Sadly the tunnels were closed when I went.

One of the most ancient surviving quarters in the city. Originally built by the Jesuits as a market, chemist, convent it included the first brick ovens in the city and extensive orchards and a planted forest for wood. The place was progressively taken by the city but what is left has an impressive story to tell. Do the guided tour.
