We stayed at Awasi Patagonia and Iguazu. Both hotels were exquisite on every level except the food. In an attempt to be hyper-local the chef misses the forest for the trees. Breakfast and lunch were absolutely fine but dinner was seriously flawed. There were generally three selections and two were unpalatable. I am a real foodie but esoterically prepared conger is not my idea of a good time especially after hiking all day. In the six nights at two Awasi hotels we ordered off menu three. The chef was very good about it and prepared pasta and steaks which were fine. A standing lamb barbecue (a local Patagonian specialty) and local side dishes would have hit the mark! I applaud his creativity and use of local resources but sometimes one can take these things too far. On every other front (guides, wines, accommodations, etc) they completely hit the mark.

Wish I could give them 10 stars - wow what an incredible experience! We have stayed at some nice places previously but the hospitality at Awasi Iguazu was over the top. My husband and I both agreed this was our favorite place we’ve ever stayed. I’m leaving out details because there’s just too many nice touches to mention. They gifted us complimentary massages and a lovely tasting menu dinner to help us celebrate our anniversary; gave us souvenirs as a gift when we had trouble with our credit card when paying; packed us lunch for our departing flight; freshly baked snacks during all excursions; the list goes on and on! They truly anticipated our every need! We had mentioned our go-to drink in conversation with our guide one morning during an all day excursion - somehow that minor detail that had been a part of a larger conversation earlier in the day was relayed to the dining staff that evening who prepared us cocktails each made with our liquor of choice. Beyond these nice touches of hospitality, our guide Guille was incredible. His knowledge of Argentina, the wildlife and the culture was impressive and so informative. He is the best local guide we have ever encountered in our many travels. So many fun excursions too - we took a leisurely washing through the jungle, kayaked Yaci River, enjoyed a private Argentinian barbecue, explored Iguazu Falls (which they have down to a science to help you avoid the crowds), learned about mate and had a tasting of this traditional national drink, visited the animal reserve, and so much more. I cannot recommend this place highly enough, and it is a must for your stay in Argentina. We hope to visit again, and we will certainly be looking for opportunities to stay in the other Awasi properties. Outstanding!!! Thank you so much to the staff for making this a trip that we will forever hold dear in our hearts!

We had a wonderful stay at Awasi. The hotel and all its amenities are great. The staff could not be more friendly and attentive. Our guide , Ayelin was fantastic and anticipated our every need, snacks on excursions, ponchos for the rain and dry blankets to warm up. The food was delicious. I would go back in a minute

Magical: beautiful or delightful in a way that seems removed from every day life This is the best way to start our description of our experience in hotel Awasi Iguazú. I was with my daughter - 10 years old - and our idea when we decided to do it was just a special “girls weekend”. At the end of the adventure all I can say is THANK YOU! Our guide Carlos B. was the best. My daughter described him like an “enciclopedia” because his knowledge and love for what he does was in every single conversation that he had with us. Also we want to thank Fernando. He really knows about local botanical staff amazing! And also thanks to every one that was always aware about our amazing food ( Celiac people here 😀) and drinks!!! My daughter was drinking a “cocktail” every night (gracias Pepe!), full of good staff that help here when she was just SO tired after enjoying the day! Muchas gracias team Awasi you really are the best and I promise you that this one will be a “girls weekend” that will be remember forever!! Maira and Solange 💕
