Disgusting hotel and a disgrace to the spg brand. Food is even more disgusting - salmon for dinner was old and break for breakfast was stale. Only good part is the amazing views. And Juan and Lucas tried their best to help given the circumstances and their rude manager. Avoid and run away! (Stayed at Rosell Boher lodge the previous night and it was a incredible experience)
Followup to this review: even though the experience was the worst spg experience I’ve ever had, I have to say the owner Eddie was the saving grace. He called me and spent some time talking thru the experience, apologized a lot, and even comped the stay. He took ownership and that was appreciated.
Firstly, good things - hotel has beautiful location, very impressive estate and grounds. Vineyards supplying local wineries is definitely something very unique for a hotel. However, the property itself does not make up for very inexperienced staff (basically in all departments) which seems to have no clue what luxury hospitality is.
Upon arrival the staff seems to just want to get over with giving out the room keys.. Zero information about the grounds, facilities, attractions, activities. Perhaps because half of the facilities were closed for the New Year period without prior notice to guests.. Luckily I didn't bring the entire bag of clubs to play golf.. closed course would be quite a disappointment..
The front desk was unable to make bookings on our behalf claiming places are booked out or closed and we managed to make the bookings ourselves - it happened twice during just a 2 day stay Our taxi ordered for specific time was delayed by 20 minutes because the front desk staff did not make sure the taxi company received and confirmed the request.
Clearly unhappy, unaccommodating waiting staff during breakfast with no knowledge or customs to be capable of servicing guests in luxury establishment. No communication with guests, no courtesy at any level of service. The only exception was Karen which seemed to be the only member of staff capable of interacting with guests in a polite, professional and courteous manner - thank you, so great to see someone smiling! :)
Fresh breakfast station’s quality of food below acceptable level. Custom-made omelette ordered for our first breakfast at the facility was served as basically scrambled eggs and it was not an accident as all guests were getting the same quality level of their "omelette". Breakfast chef’s lack of basic cooking skills has made us resign from “premium” New Year's Eve dinner for $140 pp. As we noticed later that day, the executive guest chef listed on the NYE menu did not seem to cook that night himself as prep was lead by the same chef that served our "omelette".
Very disappointing - clearly poor hotel management leads to employing unexperienced staff that is not ready to serve guests expecting 5* service. Most of the staff seemed to be surprised with simplest requests/questions. If you don't invest in the right people and staff training, even the most beautiful scenery won't make up for it. And to be clear, this is not the fault of people who work there but people who put them in wrong positions way before they are ready for them.
Excellent Hotel, the location is in the middle of a grapes field, so you need to arrive by car. The room was big, clean and beatiful (it has a fire place, you can use for a romantic night). The view we had from our bed was more than amazing. The restaurant offers different type of delicious dishes (the best service we have found since we arrived to Argentina). If you want to leave your room, you can walk around and enjoy a few drinks in the bar, swim at the open pool, or just sit and relax in the terrace (second floor). All the employees are very friendly and they will make sure you have an amazing stay.
Hands down the best hotel I've stayed at in my life. Off the beaten path, however, luxurious to say the least! The food was delicious, pool and courtyard make the hotel, staff was friendly and helpful, everything was clean. Great selection of unique and delicious cocktails at the bar!
Excelente!
Great restaurant off Tupungato, service is polite and not intrusive/bothersome, food is delicious and wine list expansive. Recommended!
