  Եկեղեցին կառուցվել է 1897-1904 թվականներին և գործել է մինչև 1926 թ.։ Սովետական շրջանում բազմաթիվ այլ կրոնական կառույցների նման եկեղեցու շենքը վերածվել է պահեստի, ապա` մինչև 1988 թ.-ը ծառայել է, որպես Գորիսի երկրագիտական թանգարանի շենք։ Վերաբացվել է 1989 թ.-ին։
