  When I made a trip with my cousin’s family to Haghpat, we stopped by the church in Odzun. This building is quite interesting. Around the church building itself has been built another wall that certainly didn’t have a defense function. Additionally, there are two pillars framed in a small wall that were staying a bit away from the church. When we visited that place we were able to witness the annual blessing of the grapes, an interesting event that I didn’t know before. I certainly recommend that place.

  In Odzun village of Alaverdi region the famous Odzun church is situated. It was built in 6-7cc by catholicos Hovhan Odznetsi

  One of the greatest churches in Armenia!
  One of the reasons that I adore this is that I was baptized here.
  The church is beautiful. It has an impressive colonnade, a memorial.
  The priest of this church is nice. His family is great!
  It is very easy to get to this village. You can also check Horomayri which is very close to the village of Odzun.

  Very nice historic church. As the place is hard to reach by big buses the place is hardly included in tourist programes. Well worth seeing if you are traveling on your own.

  Ancient church with bas-reliefs from the 4th century. Friendly priest will guide you and show everything. Definitely worth to travel there. On the back yard is the toilet. In front of church entrance - cafe.
