The most beautiful historical structure in Armenia. The drive to the monastery is equally as marvellous as the actual building. Quiet, serene and surrounded by jagged peaks, this is one of the finest historical buildings in the Caucasus region.

Getting here with public (Maršrutka) transport from Yerevan can be quite a struggle, however this is one of the most magic places I have seen on earth: I wish you found some ladies,as I did, singing religious hymns in the upper church since you will hear their celestial voices in the lower chapels too! Absolutely beautiful and peaceful highlight in Armenia!!

The place is breathtakingly beautiful, ancient complex of architecture, amazingly beautiful nature, cliffs, mountains and views. Also the road to it (from Yerevan) is quite fabulous. There’s also a nice restaurant nearby.

For me it's the location that is most impressive about this ancient monument, set deep in a canyon of red rock and towering cliffs. 5 stars when they remove the tacky restaurant and souvenir shops.

Beautiful monastery set in a stunning canyon. I visited it in all four seasons and I can't even say which is the best. The most amazing views can be caught at sunrise and sunset, when the surrounding rocks turn red. The monastery is well restored and is kept with love.

Listed as a very touristic place, this monastery is very beautiful and even in a summer weekend is not very crowded. Of course the few tourists are disturbing pictures, but I must say this is one the best seen in Armenia.

This relatively new monastery (built in the 1200's) is stunning and is set in a beautiful canyon. Well worth a visit if in the area.

The greatest creation of Momik in picturesque place. It's an unique monastery by its nature. Red canyon is so beautiful in sunny day. You can enjoy the beautiful view all day.

Perfect view and by the way according to history Jesus Christ disciples Saint Bartholomew and Saint Thaddeus started the teachings of Christianity from this area .The monastery built that implies the message "the way to heaven is not easy" look at the picture and you understand why.

One of the most important places to visit if you are travelling in Armenia!
Noravank is great! It was constructed by Momik, one of the greatest Armenian architects. Literally, the name of the monastery means "New Monastery". For sure, there is always something new to discover in this place.
The sunset here is extremely beautiful! For me, the best time to visit this place is summer. Because the color of the church matches with the warmness of summer.

Noravank is hidden in the valley of nowhere with a very quite ambient. You can only come here by car or local tour. No public transport is provided here. Two flights of steps without railing lead the visitors to enter main hall of holy mother of god cathedral, symbolising the soul illuminated by God. Noravank means 'new monastery'.
