Powers millions of people's homes. I am not convinced that it poses any real danger. However Turkish and Azerbaijani critics often harshly compare it to Chernobyl, in the hopes of having the plant shut down and weaken Armenia, and increase Armenia's reliance of foreign power sources which they believe would leave Armenia prone to their arm twisting. But the plant is kept up to date with the latest technologies and upgrades, from both France and Russia, there is no danger from the plant. I believe the plant provides power to millions of Armenians and that the opinions of those who aren't benefiting from it nor are citizens of the country which maintains it are irrelevant.
