I visit every time I'm in Armenia. Expensive if you just want to eat or drink, but well worth it considering the music (if you like jazz) and general atmosphere. Highlight was a couple of years ago when Ilona Sagieva performed, but Malkhas is always great.
The best jazz in Yerevan, friendly staff, always fast service
If you have bad seats then it's just an average, too expansive cafe. Make sure to be seated with a view of the stage.
Cozy jazz club in Yerevan center. Good food and drinks and even a cigar menu. The sound in the club is quite good even upstairs from the stage floor.
A fantastic place for locals and turists
good atmosphere and music.
expensive menu, normal food and service.
floor was in water. that was rain water coming from wall.
Malkhas band played only 30 minutes, but they should play 00:20-02:00;
Overrated to say the least.. music was low quality, staff was not friendly (maybe if you spend a ton of money, which is easy here) charges 2000 to enter which is not informed. It seems like a place you go to show off if you have a lot of money. The cognac was great though.. ended up paying 12000 for a glass of wine, a cognac and entrance, music was so lousy that we left after 40min.. better places to go in Yerevan.. (first ever review on google, but this place just made me uncomfortable and I felt like sharing)
The oldest jazz club of Yerevan named after the founder - Levon Malkhasyan. Search the word "Malkhas" in youtube and you will find bunch of recordings from the club. Probably the only cons there is inside smoking.
Tip: The maestro (Malkhas) himself is performing only after 12 am and not every day, however all other musicians are also perfect.
Great night! Thanks.
Best for drinking beer and enjoying jazz music, and worst when it comes to the quality of food and attitude of the staff, they are really unfriendly
Wonderful jazz , only minus - smoking inside :(
Very pricey and extreme high volume music, especially if you sit upstairs. Not enough space to move in between tables, and it gets very cigarette smoky cos of their wick ventilation.
Great music and performance by maestro. Enjoyed immensely. I think the prices are accordingly fair, you pay much more for mediocre concerts. Looking forward to visiting again!
My advicedon't go there if you are from outside the country. They know you are a foreigner and they will rib you off, they will add taxes, extras and unknown tips
There is a lady I guess she's the manager or the owner there..she has that kind of freakin attitude.
Old jazz school, virtuoso players, vintage atmosphere. You must visit this jazz club to enjoy the performance of the jazz Patriarch, Malkhas.
I've been there just once during my great trip in Yerevan, this place was absolutely amazing in all categories. Personnel was completely polite and welcoming, atmosphere was awesome and the music was honestly fantastic. I recommend to all jazz fellows to visit this place and have wonderful time.
