Ancient stones. And place are very interesting.
Armenian stonehenge. Worth seeing, this pleace is probably older then egiptian piramids. If you need any informaions about stones you can ask in info center near by. The owner is super friendly, helpful and hospitable. You can charge your phone there use wifi and left heavy luggage for free. Also you can find some souvenirs there.
Interesting archeological place to visit, worth to have a smart guide, free parking lots, easy to find.
Out in the open. Beautiful experience
Worth to be three! Nice views
Great historical place. The stones are approximately 7500 years old. Great view and great experience
Amazing place. One must visit and see it.
True. This is probably the Armenian Stonehenge, but without a good explanation it remain only "some rock well placed". The surrounding is beautiful and it seems always very windy
Armenia is not as well-traveled as many other countries, and this site is probably even less traveled to. Should you be in Armenia, this should not be missed, especially if you're making your way to Tatev Monastery (really close to one another).
Scientists and historians are still debating what this place is. One theory is that it was used to observe the sky, making it the oldest observatory in the world. Another theory is that it was only used as a site of worship, especially to the sun.
In any case, as a historic treasure, you should see it. AND it's older than the Stonehenge in England.
Fasinating historical site.
for me it was beautiful place with some magic.i recomend it to you
The question iswhat was the point of this:)nice place to visit, but i should read something about it first
although the place really lacks explanations, nor are the carvings visible, but it is an important stop on your way to Tatev
Great place
Unfortunately it's already dark when we reached the place, but its worth to see and visit to suffice my curiosity, good I had my camera which can capture good images even when it's dark
Nice place! Historical location of ancient times! Get a coat with you, it's usually windy there.
Nice place!
There are two Karahunges. One of them is new. The old one is very good. I would love to stay there in a tent.
But, I really think the place is not mystical already, because there are some modern settlements, cable towers in the horizon.
This was a beautiful site with a raw beauty. It is very peaceful to walk by the stones while enjoying the wind and views.
