We stayed at Aspet B&B for 3 days and 2 nights while attending a Tatev spiritual music festival at the monastery and to do some hiking around the area.
The owner and host was very friendly and showed us to our very clean and comfortable private room. As we got settled we were brought coffee and tea shortly before sitting down to dinner.
Dinner is optional at Aspet and there are restaurants in Tatev, BUT, I can't recommend their dinner enough. First - why leave the comfort of your home for food and second - the food was fresh, delicious, expertly prepared, and all from Tatev.
We all slept very well in our soft and warm beds and woke to coffee and breakfast, which comes with the room. Our host checked with us the night before to confirm the best time for breakfast. Eggs, cheese, honey, yogurt, and bread were all fresh and delicious. After telling our host we were hiking that day, she also surprised us with a packed lunch for our trip. Shower was plenty hot and there are two bathrooms to make it easy for multiple guests.
The hiking around Tatev is beautiful and worth spending the time on. Anapat monastery in the gorge below Tatev is very impressive and the nearby river and natural pools are a must for any hiker.
Aspet is close to the monastery - a 15 minute walk through the village. It's easy to get out for whatever your daily activities may be, and then come back at your leisure. Our host made sure we felt at home whenever we came back after going out. Any other people we met from Tatev along our way back and forth were very friendly.
Comfy beds, wifi, delicious food, kind and helpful owner, close to Tatev Monastery
