I applied for a position here that was advertised on the University's vacancies page, so I assumed it would be a direct application and recruitment through their HR department, as it is the case with every decent Higher Education Institute. It turned out to be through some mediocre Recruitment Agency based in London. I didn't mind, even though I found it odd that a university would delegate the recruitment process for "academic" positions to some Recruitment Agency in another country. Anyway I applied via the agency and after almost a month, I found out that the agency staff had not yet forwarded my application to the university. I was appalled to the extent that I withdrew my application from the agency. I contacted the HR office of the University, told them the story, and asked if I could apply directly, like the way it should be. They said of course, and assured me that they would forward my application to the selection committee immediately. Again, after another month went by, I phoned the HR office and asked for an update, only to be told that any application that had not been made through that agency in London would have the lowest priority and possibly not even considered. At this point, it was obvious that this is all really bad management, especially dealing with university recruitment. I never heard back, thank goodness, because I might have been tempted to proceed had I been invited for an interview or something. It shows "poor judgment" for a university to delegate the recruitment of academics to a mediocre recruitment agency in another country. It's just strange In my personal opinion (as this all is) it shows not only the incompetence of their HR department (reflecting terribly on the University as a whole) but also bad practice when it comes to academia.

Actually one of the best universities available in Armenia. Not excellent staff. It is too expensive to study here.
Good extension courses
No more American teachers, only Armenians and standards of education are falling down.
One of the best universities of Armenia. EC, Business & Computer technologies are the main facultets of AUA. Good library full of interesting books
The university has great staff and is well equipped. It is the first and sole U.S. accredited university in Armenia and in all post-soviet counties.
The best University in Armenia, still not good at international levels
The best university in Armenia! COE is the best faculty))
