  As in previous issues, some of this material has been generated through Livingmaps events. For example, the interview with Iain Sinclair follows on from his lecture in which he reflected on how London has changed over the past half century in ways which defy the kind of cartographic strategy he has deployed in much of his work. For those of our readers who missed it, a link to the video of his talk is available in the text. We are also delighted to welcome Iain as our new editor-at-large and feel sure that we have not heard the last from him on the subject of mapping.

  A must-see site in Korça. The new museum is very beautiful on its own but the icons are the true highlight. There are over 6000 icons in the collection, but only about 400 are shown, which is still a lot.
  
  The collection is a beautiful demonstration of mediaval art in Albania. There is a number of famous artists who defined the art in the late mediaval - early mondern era represented in the collection. Among these some of the most important are Onufri, the Zografi brothers, Kostandin Shpataraku etc.

  A lovely collection of Byzantine era artifacts, mostly restored Orthodox paintings, a few Albanian metallic chalice and engraved metallic bible covers. One large, restored wooden church front covered in paintings. 16th - 18th century with the flat, dour faces characteristic of the period. Beautiful fresh new building, well air conditioned, lovely lady gave a beautiful commentary in rich Albanian accent. Having been to the lovely Skanderburg museum in Kruya I expected more traditional Albanian artifacts, knives, clothes, pottery etc, rather than just Orthodox paintings.

  The restoration sir that also served as ciceron, refused to give me a receipt. He handed me a ticket that was already torn that he didn't pull out of a booklet, but pulled it already torn out of his drawer. The entry price that I paid was 700 Lek, very steep for Albania, where there are people that get paid 1000 lek per day. Was my money pocketed? This ruined my museum experience, which in fact is a collection of great value for our country and our city. I visited the museum today, July 6th 2017, between 3-5 pm.
  
  Zoteria restaurator qe sherbente edhe si ciceron, refuzoi te me jepte kuponin tatimor. Bileten qe me dha nuk e grisi nga ndonje bllok, por e kishte te grisur dhe e nxorri gati nga sirtari i katedres se tij. Cmimi qe pagova per hyrjen, shume i kripur per Shqiperine, 7000 Lek te vjetra. Kjo ma prishi jashte mase eksperiencen muzeale, qe ne fakt eshte nje vlere e cmuar per qytetin dhe vendin tone. Une vizitova muzeun sot 6 korrik 2017 midis 3-5 pm mbasdite.

  Breathtaking icons in a stunning setting. Not to be missed. Note its new location and entry fee of 700 lek - but worth it. Ring doorbell for entry.
