Agios Athanasios church

  The church of Agios Athanasios was build in the end of XVII century from the inhabitants of the villages of Palasa and Drymades. It was a dedication to the saint with the hope that it would protect the population of the villages from a long deadly epidemy of plague which had decimated the population.
  The church was painted with colorful frescoes in the end of the XVIII century which was were in good shape until its first destruction in 1972 during the atheist regime communist regim. The stones of the church were use to build the water deposit located nearby.
  In 1993 the church was rebuild and was functional until August 26, 2015 the Albanian police destroyed the church with the cover of dark at 4:20.
  Now days only the foundations of the church and a small part of the altar can be seen.
