EXECUTIVE CHEF VERNON HUGHES & E's OVEN RESTAURANT & BAR

Vernon started his career as a dish washer at the Cinnamon Reef Hotel, and foraged his way up Executive Chef. He worked in a number of top restaurants locally and Internationally. In 1991 and 1992, captured the title "Chef of the Year" in Anguilla, for eight years he was a member of the Anguilla Culinary team, a distinguished selection of the island's top Chef's chosen to represent Anguilla in regional competitions organized by the Caribbean Culinary Federation. In 1997, the Anguilla team walked away with twenty-one (21) medals in the "Taste of the Caribbean" competition which was held in Puerto Rico and captured the coveted title of "Most Innovative Caribbean Menu. Vernon was also featured on the Discovery Channel "Great Chefs of the Caribbean".
Executive Chef Hughes who has more than thirty years in the Culinary Industry, and with his velt of experience and passion for the Industry, in March 2000 opened his own restaurant and named it E's Oven. The name "E's Oven" is a tribute to Vernon's late mother, who used to bake in a traditional stone oven, that was located where the bar section of the restaurant now sits. He also provides Catering services for meeting, weddings, anniversaries and other special occasions, (catering from 1 - 1000), and Private Villa Services.
The restaurant is located in South Hill; you can't miss the brightly painted yellow and red building along the main road. E's Oven specializes in Caribbean Cuisine with a fine touch, There you can experience fine dining in a friendly and cozy atmosphere, innovative dishes prepared by owner and Executive Chef Vernon Hughes, homemade desserts, a well stocked bar, an extensive wine list, food at affordable prices and service with a smile. Don't forget to ask about the Bartender's rum punch, E's Smile, and their specials of the day.
