Winthorpes Bay

  Winthorpes Bay is that area of the Atlantic ocean that surrounds the portions of the northern portion of Antigua. The Bay itself takes in Long Island and the neighboring areas, Shell beach Marina, portions of Hodges Bay (My geography may be slightly off).
  
  The waters in this area can be slightly windy and rough (good for kite surfing etc) and calm in other areas depending on the depth and the surrounding seascape. Many sandy beaches and rugged coastline lines this famous bay is home to some of the most popular beaches ( including the Jabberwock Beach) and ports in the area. Coral reefs and seaweed beds are features of this bay (good for snorkeling and scuba diving). The waters are also good for swimming, however only stronger swimmers should venture far from shore due to somewhat strong currents.
  
  There are activities for everyone from walking the beach, picnics and bonfires on land to name just a few. Great experiences and lifetime memories are had at this location. Moonlit nights are spectacular in this area and the romantic settings on or around the beach or overlooking the Winthorpes Bay gives pleasant experiences.
  
  The possibilities are ever expanding with a medical school, restaurants, Hotels and other accommodations plus other options makes this area even more lively than it already was.
