Impressive architecture for a wonderful historical monument of this awesome island. Despite the fact that the restauration process is moving very slowly since last time when I visited this place in 2015 I hope I can see it finished once in the near future when I’ll return to this special place.

The Cathedral parish has been restoring the building for the last eight years. This Easter Sunday the congregation returns for worship.

At 21 metres high, this 150+ year old Anglican church sits on the highest point in St. John's. The church towers over the town and offers a picturesque, panoramic view of the town. The church itself is in poor condition and does not hold services, although tourists are allowed to walk around the massive interior made of pitch pine wood. It is currently undergoing slow renovations. All in all, a must-see for architecture buffs in Antigua.

In the process of having new benches installed will be very grand in a year or so. Quite an up hill walk from the harbour.

Traditional Anglicanism is what you will experience from your visit to this magnificent building of planter class who brought some of their English Heritage here to remember their motherland during their toil for wealth in the Caribbean. For a pleasant walk around St Johns this is one of the Historic sites for your to do list of places of interest to visit.

This monumental Cathedral is the main place of worship for Anglicans in Antigua. Presently no worship takes place at the venue as the cathedral is under extensive repairs due to neglect and the effects of natural disasters. Once restored to its origal glory it will again become a leading tourist attraction because of its magnificent architecture and history.
