Nice place to swim, eat and drink. Few feet from the restaurant is a floating island thing and jet skis. Also very cheap.

Food was really good and cheapest I've had on the island so far. Food was much better than the resort's buffet I've been staying at. Bar made a mistake on the bill that I didn't catch. Gave us another party's bill that was more money. The manager found me on the beach swimming and asked me to come back and made it right. 5 stars in my opinion just for the effort. Awesome clean beach with a floating water park as well as some Rocky structure right off the sand that made for really good snorkeling. Rocks were full of life. About a 20 minute cab ride from the cruise ship terminals but worth it.

4* for the Beach and 3* for the restaurant. Good service, sunchairs and embrellas. Only a few visitors and a very nice, long beach with white sand and cristal clear water.

If you expect to wait for 1h for a basic hamburger, be charged 20% more because you come from Europe, or that the owner minds every overcharged cent but doesn't mind cheating on the bill total, then Darkwood beach cafe is for you.

Should I add that some 5 stars evaluations are left by the drivers who bring you there ?

Darkwood is a Beach Bar/Restaurant/Event Location situated on the Darkwood Bay Beach on the Valley Road in Antigua and Barbuda. The are other amenities offered to the clients including a massage service, beach chair rentals and a washroom/changing room to name a few. The visitor/client is well treated and the stocked bar and warm sunny weather (Mostly) will delight the senses. The Restaurant serving light meals such as burger, fries and other gastronomic delights will ensure that the guest of the establishment have a fulfilling day.

Comfortable indoor and shaded outdoor seating with great seascape and landscape views, that larger island you see to the south on a clear day; is Montserrat. The picturesque Darkwood Beach is excellent (like so many other Antiguan Beaches) and the white powdery sand coupled with the inviting and invigorating sea will both relax and refresh.

All in all Darkwood is a great scenic point to whisk away the time of day and to recharge the batteries so to speak.

We went here to enjoy the sunset and we loved it !

The place is nice and gives you the friendly atmosphere. It's a simple place, not too flashy, but we love the crush and the drinks they offer. The service is fast and the girls are very friendly as well. I enjoyed my coconut crush, although I asked for soursop one, which unfortunately was gone. The crush in fresh and not too sweet, as I like it.

The beach is lovely as well. Not too crowded, at least by the time we visited this place.

Great beach, especially if you like a bit of waves for fun (Valley Church and Jolly beaches seems to be a bit more protected from open seas). Not suitsble for snorkeling as sandy bottom is pretty dull and water tends to have low visibility. There's natural shade from trees available before noon and if it's not too crowded (it was not most of the time).

Water is a little choppy and it takes a while to get to, but it's not overly tourist laden making it a nice place for some peace

It's a casual beach restaurant so didn't expect anything fancy. However, their food was great! I had the grilled red snapper which was the catch of the day & it was the highlight of my trip! LOL The staff was friendly & courteous. I would definitely go back.

Beautiful beach! Not crowded, plenty of places to lay out or swim. Owner of the bar was rather unfriendly. Bar gets 2 stars, beach gets 4!

Nice Beach with a very quiet area in the North (see Photo) and the bar in the south. Bar is large and ok, the service is not so good and not very friendly. We only wanted a beer and were treated different to people who had lunch.

Great beach! They rent chairs for $5 each. If you get there early you can use the free shade. They do have paid shade as well. Restaurant was great - good food and great service. They recommended putting our order in when we arrived and then food would arrive on our schedule.
