Nice swimming beach. Park your car within view.
Darkwood Beach is located in the Half Hyde Bay on the southern coastal regions of Antigua in the Caribbean and opposite the Darkwood Lagoon in the vicinity of the Crabb Hill Village. The Picturesque and rather scenic beach has the distinction of being one of a few beaches in Antigua right next to a major roadway (I often say, "To get more coastal than this is to be in the water itself"). On clearer days and evenings neighbouring Islands can be viewed (Montserrat, mainly and St. Kitts/Nevis and Redonda on really clear days). The Darkwood Lagoon and the surrounding areas and communities all form a part of the whole picture so to speak. Darkwood Beach is popular with day cruise passengers and other patrons and it powdery long white sandy shoreline is a delight for the sences.
The scenic views from the beach and of the beach is sought after and a representation of tropical delight. A beach Bar and Restaurant with event hosting space and beach chairs and other amenities is at one end of the beach helping to make the experience more enjoyable and fulfilling. Parts of the beach are lined with shady trees for a great picnic experience.
Darkwood Beach is one of the more Popular beaches on the Island for good reasons and it lives up to and sometimes exceeds the hype and notoriety.
About perfect spot. Can park within feet of the beach. Great sand, water does get deep a few feet in but then not too bad.
Perfect beach to relax, lovely family
Lovely beach. Clear water. Good snorkelling in the reef. Quiet during the week. Restaurant at the south end of the beach (left when facing the water).
Fantastic beach with resturant
