    Such a joke.
I was here for about 48-64hrs.
I was told they had detox. They offered me 1 aspirin.
Then they had some lady hang out in a tiny room with me. I don’t know why, but I was not even offered food the entire time I was there. This lady came in my room at about 1AM. Proceeded to tell me why she hated kids like me who don’t appreciate their life. And she was really mad about me. I never met her before but she went into detail about how bad a person I must be to end up there. Not at all what I expected to hear. I was pretty pissed because she expected me to lie still with my eyes closed and listen to her talk about me as if she knew me and I was a horrible person. I did lie quietly and listen. Afterwards I only said a few words, for which I was sent home on the next plane for saying, I still am not sure if I heard her right.
When she was done I asked her why she works there. When she said, “why don’t you think I should work here?” I responded, “I never met someone like you at a rehab before.” And she ran out of the room freaked out screaming bloody murder. I didn’t really care what her problem was because she was aggressive and rude. She originally came in my room saying she was there to “make” me sleep. Ordered me to lay down and she was literally staring in my face so close I could feel her. When I opened my eyes she barked, “close them” at me and she didn’t move. I think she thought I was in prison or something. The following morning some tall skinny white guy burst in my room, told me I am a “prejudiced brat” and put me in a taxi cab before I could finish packing my clothes. I still wonder why they didn’t let me take all my clothes home with me. Did they enjoy splitting up my stuff after I left? How often do they do this sort of thing? Being on an island I imagine there is not the sort of regulations or oversight so, they are free to say anything you want to hear on the phone, then you are stuck at their mercy.
Btw- u r not even allowed near the ocean or the outdoors- no matter what the brochure says. And, it felt like there wasn’t AC in some areas. That may account for the generally terrible temper.
My mom claims that she got some kind of apology, but I never did and I really think if I did it would just be a PR move. There is no way that any one should ever attend this place. If you want to go to a place that is effective, try Sober Living by the Sea. They know what they are doing. There are no psychos waiting to steal your clothes, degrade you with insults and insist you do not respond, etc

Btw- their lack of concern didn’t end there. After she left I was able to sleep in that deep sleep you get right before serious withdrawal starts. When I woke I was in serious, visible pain. They accused me of using because after that I was in such serious withdrawal that I was literally licking my old paraphanelia. There was no offer of even a hot shower (which was in my room but I was told not to use). I did not get any food. Drank water from my bathroom sink. I wasn’t allowed to shower. And I was not allowed to leave my room. It was a total nightmare. I seriously only met 1 person who spoke to me and she was abusive. The only other person didn’t speak directly to me, just at me.

I think if you want a retreat where you attend a bunch of groups and if u are really just looking for a fake rehab experience then you will be ok. But if you are serious about recovery, don’t go here.

By the way, I gave this place one star and I don’t see it tallied. I wonder how often their bad reviews disappear? Note how fake the reviews are. Lol I’m sure they will get more interesting at some point. But, any good rehab has tons, dozens and dozens, of great reviews.
