ASLO envisions a discrimination-free, empowered & democratic society in Afghanistan; which is guided based on equity, Equality, transparency, accountability, participation and inclusion of women and youth with a great respect, and address poverty.

A society where women, children and youth are free from all forms of discrimination and violence, respected and able to seek, defend and advocate at the large for the social construction and rehabilitation at the provincial and national level.

LEGAL STATUS
ASLO is an Afghan non-governmental, non-political, non-profit and non-partisan organization and has the status of legal entity. The organization was informally established in 2012 and was officially registered with the ministry of economy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in 2013.
ACTIVITY
ASLO was one of active member of Monitoring team of AWN ( Afghan women Networks ) during 2012-2014 at the North zone of Afghanistan and support AWN while data collection and highlighted gaps in three main reports produce by AWN (Afghan women Networks ) Monitoring on implementation on 1325, Afghanistan Peace and Reintegration Process “APRP” and Women Political participation.
In 2015 ASLO organized a consultation meeting at the district and provincial level in Northeastern zone of Afghanistan with the participation of 400 women to introduce five proficient and capable women to the consultation board of President among the introduced women one of the woman nominated for the consultation board of president in the cabinet.
In 2016 ASLO monitored on two commitment of National Unity Government in North zone of Afghanistan to examine how far the National Unity Government was successful in their commitment in two areas; such as Takhar and Kabul provinces the finding of this monitoring perceived by advocacy at the provincial and National level to remind the relevant government Ministries to give priorities to fulfill these commitments.
In 2016 ASLO actively played as key advocator at the district and provincial level by organizing a campaign “ Lets Stop Sexual Harassment “ to keep balance of gender equality and raise the voice of women in Northeastern zone of Afghanistan as result a complain commission was established inside the Women affairs department in Takhar and Badakhshan province.
Decades of War and civil conflict, as well as environmental degradation, have all contributed to increasing vulnerability of the Afghan people to natural disasters that caused shortcomings of drinking water, sanitation, health, security and natural resource management. Furthermore, the high level of poverty, lack of livelihood and income generating opportunities, chronic health problems, and poor state of the infrastructure all add to the burden of natural disasters on the people of Afghanistan specially in northeastern zone of Afghanistan. To overcome these challenges and minimized the risk of natural disasters in Northeastern zone of Afghanistan ASLO running a project since 2016 to support the suffering and affect area to provide emergency relief in times of natural or man made disasters and in areas of conflict.
In 2017 was designed for the duration of seven months 1,May,2017 till 31,Nove 2017 under the title of ‘ Enhanced sustainability and extension of programmer activities through partnership with and provision of support to local NGOs’ with the coverage of 10 communities in Taloqan and three communities in Rustaq district. The main purpose of the project was to increase local knowledge and understanding among key disaster-mitigation stakeholders (community, CDCs, local government) about hazards and risks and possible disaster risk reduction measures and improved community resilience against disaster through support for building of physical mitigation structures.
In 2018 , ASLO could support the vulnerable people in five community in center of Taloqan district in 2018 under the title of “To increase local resilience and community-managed responses in disaster situations and reduced risk through building community structures and DRR capacity building “ in Takhar province by targeting five communities and three high school , During the project period ASLO could success to meet the project objective through establishing emergency response committee (CBDRM),Signing MoU with targeted communities, facilitating community hazard mapping and community disaster plans in target group as well as raise community awareness to the 1770 people at the district level on community disaster and 700 student in three high school .
Beside that ASLO could success to establish emergency response committee (CBDRM), facilitate community hazard mapping and community disaster plans in target group as well as raise community awareness on community disaster management, distributing CBDRM Tools to DRR committee’s, construction of mitigation wall and check dames in identified places, construction of public latrine on IDPs peoples in Dashi Qala IDP.
Governance
ASLO organization is governed by its Board of Director ( BoD). The Board is key part of the organization and governance body of the organization. It approves policy and procedure of the organization and evaluates the organization system and program time by time. The BoD consists of eight members (both male and female) and is headed by its Chairperson. The BoD is meeting bio annually .The Executive Director of ASLO serves the board as the secretary and ex-officio member. The Board works in the guidelines of the Board Policies Manual.
ASLO is lead by its Executive Director who is the formal head of the organization. The Executive Director reports to the Chairperson of the Board of Directors (BoD) and is responsible for the overall management of the organization. The manager programs and head of different department support the Executive Director and they jointly form a management structure for the organization. and works closely with above mentioned d National level……

Accounts & Audits
ASLO maintains its all accounts on double entry system. ASLO maintain financial policies, systems and formats that help it in effective management of all its funds and maintaining a complete transparency in receipts and payments at all levels.
ASLO gets its accounts (receipts and payments) audited by the recognized chartered accountants’ firms at the end of each financial fiscal year.
