Must see for every tourist visiting UAE. Before going there rent a decent 4x4. There is no point in going if you won't drive in sand a bit. Looking at the dunes from valley and looking at the horizon from the top of the dune are two very different experiences. Try the dunes on the other side of the camel race track, dunes there have a magnificent views on the empty quarter.

Roughly 250kms + from Abu Dhabi (2.5 hours drive approx) , this is purportedly the tallest dune in UAE and one of the highest sand hills in the world. You would not have any problem finding the dune - it does attract quite a number of local and international tourists and of course UAE nationals out to check their desert driving skills. We would suggest to take the Hameem route on your way in- more interesting and scenic route with a lot of farms and the Madinat Zayed route on your way out (shorter by about 30 kms).

Climbing the dune is not an easy task - but it is well worth the effort since the views are fantastic . As recommended by other travelers, we would also suggest to time your visit for the sunset.

The attraction has a lot of parking spaces, couple of stores (not open though-so if you need any decent food or sit in restaurant you won't find it in Liwa or on the way- your best bet would be Liwa Hotel).

Don't get too hassled by the locals zooming up and down the dunes on their buggies and 4 wheel drives- let them have their enjoyment and you can safely have yours dragging yourself up for the gorgeous views. Don't attempt to drive up unless and until you have topnotch desert driving skills

Loved the drive to Moreeb Dune. And was able to wonder at the steepness of it all. Specially enjoyed the stargazing and planet watching from its surrounding desert. Can't wait to revel in the excitement of its events at the next Liwa Festival. Recommend Tilal Liwa Hotel for a stay closest to Moreeb Dune.

A must see if you are here in the UAE! The dune is 300 meters high, and you can watch as many try to get their vehicle to the top. Or you can even try climbing yourself on foot! Food trucks are available for refreshment, and there is overnight camping as well. The ride in your the area takes you past many pleasant desert vistas for perfect photo ops!

Amazing place, never seen anything like it. The dunes are massive, the sand is hard to walk through, & gets all over everything. The early morning is so still, I've never experienced a silence like that. The roads that make it easy to get out there unfortunately ruin the valley also. Durring the later day tons of vehicles driving around.

Amazing views. The road to get there is actually nicer than the dune itself. The setup around the Tal Mireb is for sports event.

Great place for tourists and young adults. Children should be with parents at all times. Best come here in the winter, where the weather is cooler.
