Zayed Cricket Stadium is home to the Abu Dhabi Cricket Club and located just 20 minutes away from the city centre, five minutes from Abu Dhabi International Airport and 10 minutes away from Yas Island.

It was inaugurated in 2006 with an epic match between India and Pakistan, where television spectatorship exceeded 800 million and saw Abu Dhabi put firmly on the world cricketing map. Other stadium visitors have included Sri Lanka, West Indies, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Scotland, Ireland, Bermuda and Uganda. The stadium has proven to be a favorite site for off-season tours by UK county teams and has hosted the England season opener between MCC and the County Champions for the last two years. Recently ACC T20 with twelve associate members and ICC T20 World Cup qualifiers with eight participants were hosted in Abu Dhabi.

The crescent-shaped South Stand spectacular dome was strategically built to protect the viewing terraces from the sun and its three supporting columns symbolize the wickets used in the game of cricket.
