The museum displays thousands of golden, bronze and iron pieces, discovered at the Saruq Al Hadid archaeological site in the Rub Al Khali desert, south of the emirate of Dubai. The museum also features fossil remains of animals and fish, in addition to ancient clay pots.

This is a beautiful museum that tells the story of an amazing historic site. The site is what inspires the Dubai Expo 2020 logo. Wonderful multimedia presentation and amazing objects from the site and a wonderful kids activity to actually dig for artifacts.

Well laid out with sufficient but not overwhelming amount of information, exhibits. Kids were engaged by looking for special signs in the exhibits plus digging for artefacts in the outdoor sand pits.
Very nicely renovated/reconstructed building. Pleasant courtyard, specially in early March during our visit.
Huge mature ficus tree in the courtyard adds to the ambience and shade.
It is impressive to see how Dubai is deepening cultural activities such as Archeology, History. Unfortunately practically all the archeologists on the videos are not Emirati.
The work is immense and will probably take decades to unearth.

Hidden gem in "old" Dubai- traditional building houses a small but fine collection of finds from Saruq Alhadid Iron Age site. For your 20Dh you get a dramatic 4D video and a personal guided tour. Dubai has more than just the malls.
