Beer on the pier. Staff is awesome. Food spots everywhere. Decent wifi. Live music. Game rooms. What else do you need?

Sooo much has changed in the sandbox. Since when I first was at it when it actually was a sandbox. Almost. Everything you can get here makes it so you dont need to go out.

Looking for a place where food and store hours are limited? Want to feel like you're in an oven during the summer? This is the spot. Don't hesitate to check this place out.

It's as good as it can get.. Not the best place for a first date but you can buy cheap drinks so not all that bad.

My boss called it the creepy carnival. I think that's the best description I have heard for it.

Decent food when things are open. It's a crap shoot when you arrive. Hours are highly dependent on what ships are in port. The food is a little pricey. Hours on the NEX are sub-par and should be extended when ships are in over the weekend. Same goes for the barbershop and MWR on base. Cheapest place for alcohol, but you have to volunteer to keep the bar open.

When looking for places to go to out in town, walking around the burj khalifa (tallest building in the world) is pretty cool, and there is some good food there. Then, look for a place called the irish village, its a good time. There malls are good too, and they even have a couple stores in them to buy workout supplements. But as far as staying in the sandbox, there really isnt much to do.

Save up for beer tickets. Watch out for shore patrol. You will probably be locked in whenever there is a bomb threat anywhere in UAE. Dubai is quite a drive, and they're not as likely to sell alcohol unless you grab a hotel, so you're better off getting back soon enough for your drunk chiefs to serve you beer. Hope you're able to separate soon. TAPS is useless. FTN.
