As a medical professional, we have the unique ability to understand the inner workings of a medical center and hospital. Unfortunately, with that comes the responsibility to review a place as NMC as one of the worst medical centers I have had the displeasure of visiting boasting the worst service I have seen in the field of health care.

The hospital is getting worse day by day it terms of service and staff.
Every appointment requests the patients to be at the hospital before 20 minutes but never has a patient been attended to at the correct time always there is a Delay based on priorities of the Doctor , receptionist and Nurses - it's never based on token system.
The waiting time streches to about minimum 60 minutes and maximum 150 minutes.
The receptionist do not answer as to when your token will be called. Moreover prioritization should not happen in a hospital except in case of emergencies.
Recently on August 2 there was a Daman insurance system update all hospitals were given circulars as to the process during this update. But Nmc "speciality" hospital chose to ignore the circular and make all patients wait for about 90 minutes and there was a person checking all the tokens for who had Daman card but he didn't bother to even inform that daman card was not working and after a long time of waiting - he said daman is not working this is not the hospital's problem . The staff was very rude - very very rude. The system is very very slow and ignorant I should say. There were a lot of frustrated and irritated patients. I would never recommend this hospital though the doctors may be close to good of the system and service is bad there is little that can be done. There is little or NO value for patient's time. This is not the way we work - certain officials should take action.

NMC need to improve their timing system, I went for my appointment at 8:30 I waited for more than 45 minutes!! And there was a patient who have been with the doctor since 8:00, so I couldn't wait more and I asked the receptionist to give another appointment and she gave an appointment tomorrow at 6:00 but before I come to the hospital I called NMC to delay my appointment and they said they can give me an appointment after two weeks!! So I didn't delay it and came for my appointment, I hope NMC solve this problem. Thank you.🙂

Met Dr. Swapna Vipin, Pediatric in the Al Ain branch of NMC hopital. An experienced Doctor. Will suggest to everyone, who intends to see a Doctor for child ailments. Not prescribing bulk medicines, explaining very clearly the matter. And perfect.

I knew from the word of mouth that it is a decent hospital and not too expensive, That the waiting time is too long but the doctors are nice. I found most of the information true after my wife got pregnant 10 months ago. Perhaps it is better for people who are on a budget or whose insurance only covers this hospital. Some of the doctors are nice (and hopefully capable), but we had to transfer our file to another hospital as my wife was not satisfied with the facilities. Being a biomedical engineer myself I could see that the medical equipment is of decent brands (not particularly top of the line). I am not too brand conscious myself but my wife did not like the ambiance of hospital too much. They do not let the husbands stay with the wife during delivery. We got very frustrated due to long-waiting hours as well. You can easily expect a delay of 1-2 hours even after having a prior appointment. Even for ultrasound they take the patients to basement (from maternity suite) and let them wait like other patients.

We could still accept that (considering it is an economical hospital) but our one particular experience was very disappointing. During the last trimester my wife was experiencing some abdomen pain. But it was only on one side of the abdomen and it happened before as well during the first trimester. From our previous experience and knowledge we knew that it was not labour pain, but when we went to NMC emergency they admitted her forcefully as a labour patient. We kept telling them it is not a labour pain but they tricked us by saying that only a gynaecologist will treat her. They failed to treat her (I do not consider pain-killers as a treatment) as their focus was on delivery only, even though there were hardly any labour contractions, no cervix dilation and her due date was 4 weeks later. Our initial fear came true as they billed our insurance company for delivery related expenses. I sign an undertaking and got my wife discharged forcefully. The delivery of course happened 1 month later on the exact due date but at another hospital. It was a normal delivery alhamdullilah without any drugs whatsoever. But since NMC billed our insurance company on a false pretext earlier, our insurance company deducted the amount from our delivery limit. Thus when the actual delivery happened we had to pay extra couple of thousand from our own pocket.. Had I not signed a disclaimer and forcefully got my wife discharged, they would have billed the insurance company much higher, which in turn would have dented our delivery limit by another couple of thousands.

I really hope and pray that they hire people who are not concerned with minting money but rather focus on the humanitarian aspect of being a healthcare provider. I give two stars for the over-worked nursing staff who give their best in the available circumstances.

    Hai there,
If you really care for the feedbacks, kindly read this. The patient care is really pathetic at NMC Al Ain. I am sharing three of such experiences. My wife had a very bitter experience here in this hospital when we were coming to consult a doctor in gynecology. I am not mentioning the doctor's name here. Then we stopped coming there. After a long time when we had to come to casualty for an emergency, we were kept waiting for 50 min. Reason: doctor was not there to attend. Then recently we had to come to pediatric dept. After consultation the doctor had asked me to call her next day to know the results of the lab tests. So far I had called her twice with the same reply from her to call her after 30 min. This has now given me an impression that this hospital is absolutely not interested in our care. And I am not going to come to this hospital any more.

NMC Specialty Al Ain orthopedics doctors should learn more and improve more.I have a problem with my Sternoclavicular joint pain and swelling i do Xray, Ultrasound , Ct scan, Blood test and still they dont know what really the problem is .
I did not recieve any treatment or any medications because im waiting for the result in my case so that they can give me the right medication but sad to say after 5 months of test i did not recieve any result , they said that if i still can bear the pain i should continue living and if its already severe and i cant take it anymore thats the time that i will come back to the hospital. im very very angry with that point . its better to do a medication sooner right ? i took already all my record in bloodtest ct scan, ultrasound and xray and i will go another hospital .
i will never come back in nmc orthopedics section.
    Very Bad.

We have used the dentistry section in Al Ain. Doctors competence level vary a lot. We had both good and bad experience. Nurse's care and handling of patient should improve (a lot). Patient overall comfort should be taken into account - both by the attending doctor and the nurse. I find charges very expensive, given the standard. Also I have noted that during x-ray,, patient is not provided with any x-ray shield/guard (whereas in my previous doctor's clinic - they do).
