A Simple and unique Museum with ancient Arabic architecture. Loved the ambiance. Not much exhibits but we learn how rich is the history of this great nation. You can spend 2-3 Hours in the museum if you are on a leisure day. Not much crowded also. Don't Miss out the Wind Tower.

As a place it’s really nice, beautiful and tidy, and the government is taking care of it will, if you are that guy who loves archaeological things this is not the correct place for you, but if you love antiques, this is a wonderful place to visit and highly recommended for sure.

For 5 dirhams entrance fee, you get to see the history of Ras Al Khaima and have an overview of the life in the past. Discovering how they have lived the life before made us appreciate the life we have now. The museum is not that big but it's worth a visit. You can find antequities, ancient vases, fishing and hunting tools and many more. Bring your kids so they become exposed to our ancient history!

Its well known for the historical sources, its construction is just like the traditional houses of Ras Al Khaima, rooms inside the Late Fort are open to the public and exhibit archaeological, historical and ethnographical objects. The artifacts and collections were partly donated by members of the ruling Quwasim family and residents of Ras Al Khaimah. The museum is located at the old city of Ras Al Khaima, behind the police station. Its not so easily noticeable from the traffic. There is a entry fee of 5 Dirhams, at the entrance u can get the tickets. A very friendly Malayali guy is there to serve you. Overall i had a good experience, it showcases a very good opportunity to study about the history of Emirati civilization and their struggles and winning.

Fantastic location and great insight into Emirati history. The museum at RAK was a very enriching experience which showcases the richness of Emirati history and its culture. They have rare artefacts from thousands of years ago. Its a very well maintained facility and easy to find in the city. Its a must visit if you are in the city. Great Experience and the people managing the facility were very polite and helpful.

Located in an older part of town. The museum is good for a quick visit, but keep your expectations in check. It's an old place, with an old vibe. If you're looking to learn more a about RAK history, drop by.

Gives a decent amount of information about the history, but sadly no tour guide option. Overall, the 5AED/p ticket is worth it. The only bad thing about it is that it looks like a shady old unsafe fort with parts of it being unsafe for children and even adults - such as the viewpoint tower with steep small stairs and a poorly mounted railing that may collapse any time

Quite a bit of history, but housed in a poorly maintained, unsafe, creaky old fort.
I understand they want to showcase the fort as it were, but the lack of maintenance goes too far - in the main tower the stairs were dusty and the higher floors had sizable open windows at floor level making this extremely dangerous for children. The top of the tower has low walls and is unsafe even for adults.
The renovations have been carelessly done with little regard for authenticity - in one place the cushion cover actually has the "made in China" label printed on it!!!
When pointed out, the ticket lady (who was the only one in the entire building) didn't even understand what I was trying to say.
Overall, this museum has loads to offer, but so poorly maintained that it's not worth a trip.
