Nice place to visit. The museum is interesting and well maintained. They should however privide transport to the different location as they are quite far apart and the paths are not suitable for every vehicle.

Hidden away near Fossil Rock, is the Maleiha Archeological centre. It's a fantastic place to stop by and learn about the history of the region. They've got a great restaurant for coffee and lunch.

This place is a really nice destination for a road trip since it's practically in the middle of nowhere. There's a really cool mini museum inside and a great cafe just next to it so it's totally worth the drive. Also, there's a sweet platform on the roof where you check out some mountains and greenery - perfect to watch the sunset if you want.

I visited the Mleiha Archaeological Center in Feb 2017. The staff here are knowledgeable. They explained the changes right from Paleolithic period to Neolithic, Bronze, Iron and on. It sounded so interesting I wonder why it didn’t interest me during the school days.
Graves discovered here were in well preserved condition. The burial chambers had skeletal remains, pottery and metal objects. While some of the graves had disturbed skeletal remains, some had undisturbed ones of at least 300 corpses.
One sight I can never forget is the remains of a horse and a camel. Both are given handsome forms, they are visible through a glass pane over which we walk. When you look down you feel you are standing on them. Their skeletons were discovered in 1994 in a grave in Mleiha.

Amazing hidden spot in all this concrete. The center is huge. The personnel, Mr. Ajmal and Mr. Nihar specially, were very professional, prompt to help, knowledgeable and kind. My husband and I stayed at the overnight camping and we truly loved it. Definitely coming back.
