This was the best part of Deira. Taking the Abra transport across the creek to the other side costs 1 Dirham per person and it is well worth it, we took it 3 times! Just call out where you are trying to go and they will guide you to the right boat. Get on quickly so you get a good spot then just enjoy the view. He will collect the fare before setting off. Bring small change in case they don't have any. Felt very authentic. I believe you can even hire an Abra to tour the creek if you have time and money to spare, don't be afraid to bargain your rate.

Only one Dirham for the five minutes trip across the river in a traditional boat ( dhow).

It feels like 50 years ago riding by these ferries. The heavy diesel smoke combined with the engine sound is great.

This ride is a must do for everyone visiting Dubai. It is safe, never heard of anyone falling off the boat. The water is not clean so don't plan to swim in there. lol. I love taking the abrar boat ride to.get to spice souq for my monthly kitchen spice stock.
