Boulevard Kitchen is the all you can eat buffet option of Manzil Hotel.

I visited on Thursday night which is their seafood night and there were a ton of seafood available, there was an entire spread dedicated to seafood where it was of course the star and the kitchen would prepare the food for you whether you wanted it grilled or any other way you like it, it is then brought to your table for your enjoyment.

The restaurant is spacious but all the open space also means that there are not that many tables available, which could be a problem if it gets busy. Luckily enough there is also outdoor seating to help alleviate the potential problem. While the restaurant wasn’t 100% packed when I was there, a steady flow of customers were coming as the old ones were leaving.

It was tough to say if the decision was made to have less items and better quality because I felt the amount of selection available was slightly disappointing. I have seen some buffets opt for this as they know their quality can more than make up for it. I didn’t feel this was the case here and didn’t live up to what you might expect from Emaar, who is one of the biggest players in the hospitality game. Having said that, the pricing is fair as you are paying for the location of downtown Dubai and the upscale experience of the restaurant.

There was a huge pan of seafood and rice which was borderline lacking in flavour. The idea here is to enjoy the natural juices of the seafood and those were somewhat lacking. The other seafood items I noticed were the mixed seafood salad that had a sweet and sour taste. I wish it was a different flavour because any time I see sweet and sour on a dish, it reminds me that I can go to carrefour and buy a bottle of sauce and pour it on the food myself. I am sure that Boulevard Kitchen made their own sauce but seeing this type of food at a 4 star hotel just reminded me of this.

My favourite dish was the lobster bisque which was thick in texture and you could taste the lobster that was blended into the broth if you took a moment to sip on what you are drinking. There was a pasta in tomato sauce and salmon which was also nice. Other than these, I have to say that most of the other food were average for a four star.

As Emaar have so many restaurants, I would have to say that this one is probably a one and done.

Service was terrible. Food mediocre. Asked for a Pepsi 5 times and eventually had to go to the bar to get it myself. Not impressed at all. They also tried to charge us for more people and alcoholic packages when we had non-alcoholic. Do not go

Very nice brunch in the heart of Dubai, delicious food, friendly staff and beautiful restaurant. Brunch includes shisha which can be consumed in the beautiful courtyard while listening to a live dj. Great atmosphere at a good price!

My friends and I went for an iftar meal. Price was affordable and the food selection was decent. I think the only odd thing was the location of the bathrooms, which was in the center of the food buffet. I wasn't very impressed with the service either. They were very slow with requests and even got out bill wrong.
