Nice, laid back setting on the lawn facing the marina. The clientele is varied, ranging from businessmen to happy toddlers (until a certain time) . The food menu is mainly meat. Their specialty is mussels with Belgian fries. They also serve pork dishes out of a dedicated kitchen. Although the staff is nice but the service could be quite slow sometimes.
They also have an interesting Friday Brunch that should be tried at least once.
All in all, it's a nice place to have a drink and chill out.
A pleasant outdoor cafe within the compound of the Intercontinental Hotel, not far from the well-known small marina. Nice atmosphere. Tables on the well cultivated lawn. Staff needs more training in communicating with clients with a smile.
It's a classic in Abu Dhabi. The outdoor seating area is really enjoyable. In peak times get ready to wait for your food, but off peak hours have a good and fast service. Shout out to Chris who looked after us and provided an outstanding service.
The Best Mussels in town for sure and great Happy hour daily too .
They have muscle night offer weekly too ,and its been my favourite place for mussels since 2007.
The terrace is great and sunset views are mesmerising.
I m not a beer person but as per my friends its great selection and good prices 👌
Belgian cafe outside bar seating;
The atmospheres was excellent, however the service was too slow and the mussels we had was average in taste, as for my wife she said it use to be much more tasty.
But for sure I will visit again for the atmosphere and to have a beer, especially for my daughter I felt like she was in heaven she was very happy.
So if you want to have nice beer while watching your children playing in front of you with others, this is the right place to be.
1 May 2018. This is an update from my previous review. This time when we were staying at Intercontinental Hotel. First night we sat inside of bar. We just had drinks that night. My wife requested Merlot wine as she didn't want the house wine. What she was given was terrible. She returned it and the staff tried to justify that it was merlot. Why then didn't they pour it out of bottle in front of us. She eventually got good wine. The Filipino lady that appeared to be in charge was rude and dismissive.
Second night we sat outside and enjoyed beer and cider. It was good atmosphere. This was very much the same on third night.
On forth night we had drinks and also food. My battered cod wasn't very nice, too greasy and very little fish content in the batter. My wife had beetroot salad which was quite dry.
One standout staff member was Baba. he was very friendly with a happy personality, and was excellent in his job.
My wife and I went to Belgian Cafe in 29 January 2015. We sat outside early evening, had drinks and some snacks. The snacks are very expensive for what you get (not much). Service was good and staff very pleasant. We would go again as it is a nice location and atmosphere, especially outside.
Really nice outdoor space with a good view of the sea. Part of the Intercontinental Hotel so has adequate self parking & valet. Good variety of beer, cider, wine and cocktails. Great happy hour deals too!
Would recommend for meeting up with friends, pre-dinner drinks and light bites.
The place so nice but I had a bad experience.
-They bring me wrong drinks wasn’t cold
-The food I ordered was really cold
This wasn’t good service for Belgian Cafe
Belgian Café is a one stop csfe for everything you need. The place offers tonsnof variety of food, ranging from seafood like mussels and salmon to pork ribs and handmade beef meatballs. The atmosphere is wonderful here. Many foreigns visit during happy hours and some music is played on a Friday afternoon. The drinks here is as you would expect from a restaurant like this one. The service is extraordinary and Peter (main waiter) is extremely kind. The prices are a bit expensive, but you are paying for a top notch service and food. Belgian Café is located inside the Intercontinental Hotel. I would visit again if I had the chance to.
My friends and I visited the Belgian Cafe on New Years Eve.
Unfortunately the service was horrific and took 30mins to get served after ordering. There was easily 22 staff working in an area that was not busy.
The food was delicious and also served hot. I had the Cod main dish and I would definitely have it again but unfortunately I will never return here. The other Belgian Cafe is superior to this on all levels!
The lack of support from management and flawed process for serving drinks has left a bitter taste and tainted a good evening.
I would like to share my experience it was grate Amazing service by Sai, Purna & Raghu we went to chamas restaurant & Belgium cafe both was Amazing nice service, environment & music such a beautiful place.
Went there a couple of times during my stay over at Intercon. Atmosphere is awesome. Outdoor seatings are packed with both tourists and locals. Live bands perform frequently. Good selections of Belgium beers. Not cheap as it is typical here. A glass of Delerium Tremens cost about equivalent of 18 USD. Foods decent. Mussels are popular.
The beers are awesome but they are super pricey and there aren't any vegetarian options
Good place and Belgium beer is great I like it
My first visit However its a very friendly welcoming place to spend a nice peaceful and relaxing evening. Food was delicious and the view was wonderful . Special thanks to Sheldon who made the evening more special for me and my friends as he suggested us the perfect drinks and perfect snacks. We are definitely coming back soon.
The food is decent to very good and largely authentic, depending on what you order. People come here for the the Belgian crowd-pleasers: mussels and fries. Both are good. The selection of Belgian beers is great, more than I could possibly be interested in. There is a large outside seating area, which is very pleasant. When it gets full, the staff is challenged to stay on top of everything, but they are trying and have a positive attitude about it.
