Al Maktoum International is a world class airport, I was luck to get a VIP tour of the place and it was during the Dubai Airshow.
The Airport is massive and has stater of the art facilities, it took me an hour to get here from the center of Dubai. There’s not much around the Airport.response / report this review -

LOVELY AIRPORT, quite far out from the centre but not too much in a cab to get there. Comfortable, good toilet facilities and prayer rooms if you wish.

Other airports do not prepare you for the scale of Dubai's Al Maktoum International Airport, which extends over more than 21 square miles. The facility is designed to handle 200 wide-body aircraft at a time. The airport's second expansion phase alone has an estimated cost of more than $32 billion.
The airport will be the largest component of Dubai World Central with a surface area of more than 140 square kilometres (54 sq mi). If completed as planned, the airport will have an annual cargo capacity of 12 million tonnes (12,000,000 long tons; 13,000,000 short tons), and a passenger capacity of up to 160 million people per year. Even though the airport and surrounding infrastructure are still under development, flying to and from DWC is a pleasant experience devoid of a lot of the stress often experienced when travelling from busy airports.
Open air covered parking is close to the terminal buildings and is free of charge. How long this will remain the case is not too certain
On the departure side before baggage check in, there is an information desk, a bank, a Costa coffee shop and a stall type shop offering small travel bags, as well some magazines, refreshments and miscellaneous food items such as chocolates biscuits etc. There are also two vending machines . The washroom that was in service was airy and clean.
The distances to walk are fairly short, and the facilities adequate.
Once you pass immigration, you won’t find luxurious shopping or fancy eateries just yet. The duty free is very small, and there is a Macdonald’s as well as a Costa coffee shop .
Access to planes is via bus rather than the gangways which can be a bit awkward if you’re elderly or with small kids.
At the moment there are very few flights through this airport, but I doubt it will remain this quiet for much longer Until such a time, DWC will remain one of our airports of choice for my family and I, and making the trip to and from Abu Dhabi, not seem such a long way away.

Pretty much a necessity for any Asia or Oceania-bound flights these days. Decent airport, but sadly lacks more generic, good dining options outside the usual Burger Kings and Costa Cafes.

Ma Sha Allah Great Airport
Al Maktoum International Airport is an international airport in Jebel Ali, 37 kilometres (23 mi) southwest of Dubai, United Arab Emirates that opened on 27 June 2010. It is the main part of Dubai World Central, a planned residential, commercial and logistics complex.
The airport will contain transport modes, logistics and value-added services, including manufacturing and assembly, in a single free economic zone. It will cover an area of 14,000 hectares (35,000 acres). The airport has a projected annual capacity of 12 million tonnes (12,000,000 long tons; 13,000,000 short tons) of freight and between 160 million and 260 million passengers. As of December 2014, only a handful of airlines operate passenger services out of Al Maktoum International Airport.response / report this review -

The airport is new and spacious. Great for tired travellers since there are no queue for the passport control and customs. Have a great experience from departing and arriving at DWC airport.

I love the airport itself, it's big, clean, well serviced, absolutely gorgeous and despite on-going construction in perfect shape. Toilets, staff and everything is exactly what you want in an airport. But it's literally in the middle of the desert, so:
It only gets one star, because this airport is not yet ready to serve passengers! There are almost no options for public transport, when you want to get to Dubai. You almost certainly have to shell out 50 AED for a taxi to the nearest Metro station, which takes about 30 minutes. Personally I wouldn't choose this airport if going to Dubai - a cheap flight will quickly cost you more and be very inconvenient compared to DXB (Dubais other airport).
I look forward to seeing this airport when the metro is connected - that will make it a real alternative to DXB and it will deserve at least 6 stars, until then, just 1.response / report this review -

I landed in Dubai from Doha in this Airport. Big and very quiet. Spacious and comfortable. A bit far from the main city, about 40mins. Great food and drinks. The restrooms are so advanced and neat.

Very fast alternative if you want to avoid packed immigration halls like at DXB for NYE. We passed through in like no time. However Qatar Airways landed on a outside position and we had to walk through the construction site. But didn't bother me at all. Approx. 45 min away from Dubai downtown.
