Great zoo experience. The natural habitats are effectively mimicked and provided as enrichment to the animals. However, the number of species to view are quite few, in comparison to other world-class zoos. The safari is great I hear, but, haven't tried it yet. But, take plentiful water and avoid mid-day. It gets incredibly warm during even winter months!
Vista their Bird House both For small birds & Big Birds. The passage in the Big cage is the best part. If you get lucky they sometimes fly over and sit on the Bridge
This Big bird cage is normally hidden & need to search for it. Most people think it's to be viewed from outside only
Don't have Big bird Cage pictures now :(
It is incredible to find such a huge zoo with a variety of animals in gulf area.
I have visited this zoo more than 4 times in 5 years. and each time I see new things and better changes
you will enjoy seeing the birds lizards and wild animals . the big cats.
The rhino is very huge and the puma is beautiful
I have been to this zoo twice already in a span of one week. I thoroughly enjoyed it, but for such a large zoo, I wish they had elephants. Also some animals like the hippo are off limits for some reason. Not sure if it's part of the Safari which has a separate admission, or if they are doing maintenance work. Also I highly recommend visiting the large museum-like centre in the middle. It is fun and interactive although some devices are non functional like the sand dunes box and the tectonic plates box. All in all 5/5 stars
Very good place to go for fun with family. For seeing the all animals will take a full day. So its good to go in the early morning. Best period to go there is November to March. In the summer is a horrible experience to walk inside that far. New train service for existing is a very good idea after all those walking. It’s very easy to come out using that train. Don’t forget to go the zone near the main gate where train is stopping. Its a good way to get some rest to your legs.
Amazing sight seeing with allot of animals to see.. the safari is awesome .. allot of information is given about the animals and plants. You can see rare animals there too like the white lion and tiger.. they have restaurants.. cafes and children play area.. it also includes the light show at night and the bird show.. overall id give the place a 5 star clean tidy nice people and great prices.. :D
Hippo n giraffe were good. Tiger, White tiger, lion, Rhino, Penguins and bird house are must watch. Well maintained and larger than before. No elephants n bear. Rabbits, horse and few others also not there. Don't miss the bird show in the evening.
I would have given a 4.5 if the place had an elephant too, missing in UAE, i hope Dubai safari shall be able to son fix that issue.
Al.Ain zoo is best to visit during spring or winter as there is lot to cover on foot unless one can afford the buggies. I haven't done the safari tour but can say it won't be worth the package cost. The zoo is quite nicely planned out in the big acre of land. Quite good collection of animals, birds, and reptiles. The birds show is a must watch. Make sure to take some food and chairs to have a good rest whilst you cover the ground. A map available at the entrance shall be handy.
Good place to visit with kids. A lot of the enclosures are a decent size which is refreshing, even if it make it harder to see some of the animals. There are a good variety of animals across the zoo of all shapes and sizes. The map isn't great so don't rely on it too much and quite a few sign posts appear to point in conflicting directions but don't let that detract from the experience. The are plenty of food and beverage outlets scattered around. All in all worth a visit. We didn't try the Safari but others have said it is good, especially at night when more animals are out.
The Al Ain zoo was a wonderful experience. Most of the animals were active and playful as the weather was great. Abu Dhabi science festival was organized at the Zoo which hosted science related activities including live shows. Overall good experience.
We have been to the zoo about a year back they have done a lot of work to improve from what it was before. It is now more modern and well-organized entry area; ticketing and entry points. The staff were friendly and ready to help at any time. The whole zoo was clean and roads clear.
However, when you are there, you might want to use the private transport to move inside the zoo. The zoo has been expanded massively and it is difficult to move around with young kids/old people. We managed to cover 1/3 of the zoo walking but we had to go back to the gate to take the tour train. But this proved to be tough job because there was no queue and the security was struggling to control the crowd. There are a limited number of trains which leave every 30 minutes. So, my advice is that if you want to really enjoy it to the fullest, take the private tour/safari cart and be comfortable.
The entry price is very reasonable and lots of places to get refreshments around the park. If you visit on weekends or public holidays, expect to have hard time finding parking spot and long ques on ticketing windows.
The best months to visit is starting November to February, avoid summer time.
Awesome experience with well maintained infrastructure.
More than just visiting the Zoo, the atmosphere and ambiance inside it is simply great. Good collection and display of animals/ birds would fascinate each one of you visiting there.
Good time to visit there will be October to February and do not miss taking African Safari ride.
Good place for family and kids. Renovated recently with a wider expanse of land so make sure you use the train service to catch up all the attractions. Good time to visit will be September to April.
There are lot of difference from last visit I made. I spent more time than last visit and this time I was able to see only few animals. Many areas are seen empty. The area is big and have to walk a lot ( paid carts available ) but the experience is not satisfactory, specially for kids. I took my 2 1/2 old son because he is fond of animals. But he is not at all excited except on one or two animals.
go there when weather is good. many kind of animals and the birds show. aha penguins as well now.
do not visit after or during rain. they does not do bird show and horse riding.
you have to walk long so be ready for that or pay extra to hire small rides.
A wonderful place for the whole family. Warm and helpful staff there. A lot of animals to see and a number of activities for the kids as well. An experience to remember and write home about.
The variety of animals here is very good, never go in the summer however, it's scorching hot and all the animals are hiding in the shades.
Definitely don't eat at the restaurant over there, the food there is simply not suitable for human beings!! My 3 year old son got a heartburn when he ate the fries, and their mix grill was simply not edible!
A good zoo with most of the animals you wish to see there. Very informative and has a vast coverage area. The best time would be winter to go there. Be aware that you need a full day to cover the whole area and enjoy the zoo. There is water, juices and snacks available. There are also washroom facilities!
The awesome place ever i seen , nice supportive staff , clean , pure nature . My suggestion is never visit afternoon . Visit only evening or morning . Must see bird show . Loved it
I am working here and I love this place. You will really enjoy your trip when you spend your day in Al Ain zoo
Al ain zoo Park an excellent place for family get-together. A number of wild animals including Lion, Leopard, tiger, ostrich, monkey and other animals are in the zoo. Some food outlets are also available inside at regular intervals. Good place to take kids for enjoyment and education.
A very well maintained zoo. Nice place to visit with your family. There is a learning center in the zoo. You need to pay additional charge to visit it. It has the records and documentation of the extinct species found in the region. And there is information about the land formations.
There is a safari too. Which requires to be purchased separately.
Nice zoo almost on the lines of the Singapore zoo. Needs a lot of refinement still. Animal enclosures are good but still can be better. No stink as found in many other zoo's. For Aed 30 as basic admission it is a bargain. The zoo management must include more entertaining shows at various points in the zoo. More informative kiosks to tell people about the animals would be interesting.
