مسجد دبي الكبير

يقع المسجدد الكبير في إمارة دبي، الإمارات العربية المتحدة. يقع بين سوق المنسوجات التقليدي ومتحف دبي قريبا من منطقة بر دبي، إلى الجنوب من المعبد الهندي. بني في الأصل عام 1900 دمّر المسجد ثم أعيد بناؤه عام 1960, ثم أجريت عليه عمليات توسعة عديدة (المسجد الحالي). يتسع المسجد الآن لحوالي 1,200 مصلٍ. لا يسمح لغير المسلمين بدخول المسجد، لكن يسمح بالدخول إلى المئذنة حيث يمكن التصوير منها. The mosque is the hub of Dubai’s religious and cultural life.التاريخكان المسجد في الأصل كتاب (مدرسة) لتدريس القرآن وقد بدأ في استقبال أول فوج من الطلاب عام 1900 لتعليمهم القرآن بطريقة الحفظ الأصم. استبدل المبنى بمسجد جديد في نفس الموقع عام 1960 ثم أعيد بناؤه عام 1998، بأسلوب بناء لم يختلف عن البناء الأصلي الذي يعود لعام 1900 يعتبر هذا المسجد أحد أكبر مساجد دبي وقد لعب دور ديوان الهيمنة في المدينة.العمارةThe tallest imposing feature of the mosque is the مئذنة, the tallest in Dubai, which resembles a منارة. The sandy-grey walls are generally unadorned, but there is a large Quranic inscription inlaid above the five columns of the entrance facade, which sit at the top of a short flight of six steps. The 45 small and nine larger domes with the tall minaret cover the roof of the Grand Mosque. The wooden windows are fitted with hand-made stained glass and blend well with the old town of Bur Dubai, and its minaret is designed in Anatolian architectural style. Visitors to the mosque are advised to dress conservatively. The mosque has a capacity of up to 1,200 worshippers. Nearest metro station is Al Fahidi.
