Biggest Korean / Oriental market in San Diego. Lots of homemade kimchee, banchan, marinated Korean BBQ meats and prepared foods, in addition to the produce, meats, etc. They also have vegetables you won't find at regular grocery stores that are necessary for Asian cooking. Also the food court has a nice variety of foods in addition to the small boutiques as well. Parking can be crazy as well as the checkout lines and while there is a wide variety of groceries at good prices sometimes their quality is lacking.User
Where 99 Ranch Market leaves off, Zion takes over! Zion Market tends to carry a lot more Korean and Japanese produce and dry goods than 99 Ranch does. If you have not been there, you will be amazed at how large it is and the variety of products they offer.
I have found the best time and worse time to shop at Zion's is the weekends. They have great fresh produce sales unmatched by any other supermarket, ethnic or otherwise. Down side is the crowd... OMG... shoulder to shoulder at times with no place for your cart but along the side of shelves or the next aisle over. Then the cashier lines... ;-(
Good news is, the savings make it all worthwhile and the cashier lines go pretty fast as nearly all registers are manned and busy.User
This is a great space (much improved from their old venue). The food selection is excellent and the produce is amazing. Be prepared for an experience as you look for the best vegetables (Iots of action in that department)!User
Incredibly priced store! We buy all our rice, noodles, fruits, and vegetables here because the prices and quality are just right. Persimmons in season can get down to $0.99 for 2 lbs., cherries at $0.99 for 2 lbs., and pomegranate can get to $0.99 for 1 lb. as well. The variety of shops inside are great and overall very clean. Did you know there is a library upstairs in the back?? Check out Zion Marketplace!User
Zion is one of my favorite Korean grocery stores. Usually a lot less busy than H-Mart and just as good. The meats and seafood can't get any fresher than here, and I am willing to pay a little more for better quality. The vegetables and fruits are always fresh and the offer great daily deals as well. I enjoy purchasing their tasty and cheap to-go cucumber kimchi and Korean noodles (japchae). So good! I also get my 2x spicy chicken noodle packs here. And it has Paris Baguette too, best cakes!User
Wide selection of Korean goods and produce. I love the food court. All the restaurants are good here. There's an accounting office, hair salon, coffee cart, pastries, make up shop, and clothing boutiques.User
Massive selection of interesting items. Lots of fun to visit. One downside is the checkout process the seems to take forever. Produce is low-cost, and the kids love to visit the side stores and coffee shop.User
The grocery store offers fresh but cheap produce, asian products, food court and all sorts of stores inside this grocery store. It's a one stop shop for grocery shopping, dining and just listening to music..User
Good selection of foods but most foods seem to be of mediocre quality, and usually not very cheap.
I ate at "Korean Food", got stone pot octopus on rice, I had to ask for the hot sauce which should usually come with the dish. It's not a hard dish to get right but it was pretty flavorless.
They always have a pianist in the background with generic music which can be distracting if you want to hold a conversation or want to eat in peace but I didn't mind the music for the most part.
I enjoy shopping at zion so to me it's worth it to get a quick lunch before I get groceries, but if you're just looking for a good filling meal I think your money is better spent in any of the other various Asian restaurants found on Convoy.User
I love this place. I can get yummy Asian food and a wide variety of products here. They also have a huge produce department with very reasonable prices.User
Great prices on fruits and vegetables. I love the marinated meats also. And they've got a really nice food court with lots of options.User
Great selection of Korean foods with other Asian foods from Chinese, Japanese and Vietnamese cultures as well. There is a great food court with a wide selection of food as well as a Paris Baguette too where you can buy pastries. The volume of customers is extremely high at Zion making their produce very fresh and reasonable. Meat prices are also very competitive as well. Highly recommended. User
Gotta love the cheap produce and variety available here. Large and clean. In some cases certain things are cheaper and better than 99 ranch across the street. Really like the food court also with the selection of cuisine and options. So with friends everyone can choose what they want.User
OMG this is my new favorite place to go! There's no other place like it in San Diego. The second I walked in I felt almost like I was in a different country or airport or something very international...and the food corner is insanely appealing with delicious aromas, killer deals and food the dream of. I had the freshest poke ball from poke U and I'm going back for more😍User
One of those places you have to experience to believe. An amazing selection of great Asian groceries, and usually some good samples being given-out (just wish they'd give samples of something other than dumplings, but still, they're great).
The produce department is shockingly good, and there always seems to be a "produce frenzy" going-on there, which is understandable, given the fabulous prices.
