After spending an hour on hold being transferred to different specialists, I got hung up on. The second time I spent 45 minutes on hold. Some decent man tried to help me cancel my service but they delivered my can anyways and haven’t picked it back up. The price of their services is double that if local companies, and if you want to cancel, you’ll be disappointed in how much time you waste waiting for their customer service department. I would rather haul my own garbage than use WM in the future.
They have always been professional, clean and orderly, and respectful of my property. The can is always right back where I put it, and there is never any garbage left behind. It's one of those services that you don't have to think or worry about. It just happens!
Its hard to get any real information on line when you need it and my questions have been ignored in the past. Its kind of a pain in the butt. They are higher priced than others but I am not ready to go somewhere else yet. I don't know why. They do pick ups good and I did get a hold of someone once to ask to make sure they got all the trash out cause something was stuck on the bottom. The took my extra item for a cost, but really expensive.
I should have shopped around before going with this company. At first it was about $120 per 3 months, but over a -4 year span, the cost has risen to $209 per 3 months of service in my area. Almost 70 a month. The competitor I'm switching to are charging 20. If this was their only flaw, I would not be here leaving a review. I'm not someone who leaves reviews normally, but here I am.
So, I noticed this and decided to cancel, but I had waited too long. I realized that while I could do EVERYTHING ELSE online, I could not end my service via the website. I called on the first pick-up day of a new 3 month pay period to cancel my service. I asked to have today be the last pick-up day, and how much that single pick-up would cost on my last bill. $109 is what I was told on the phone. One hundred and nine dollars for a single residential can pickup. I was also told its a 75$ fee to have them come take the can away, when I asked where I could return the can to the lady on the phone started listening off different towns and cities. The first town she listed was 144 miles away, the second one I cannot remember, but the third was an hour's drive away, as well as the 4th. My city was the 5th option she gave me, and only after I left a good gap of silence at the end of her list. That's a scummy script trick I hadn't come across before.
To the PR media rep who's gonna have to read this, I'm sorry you're caught up in the corporate system. I've seen you reply to all of the other reviews. If you want to try to work something out to make me change this review, make me a public promise to reduce the single-pick up fee to a proportional fraction of my bill. I wont go to private communication otherwise.
Horrible company with extremely poor customer service that's filled with liars who will say anything to get your money. I called to transfer my service to a new condo I am renting. My partner usually deals with the trash; however we had a lot of places to call during our move, so I made the call.
I gave them the address we were moving away from and they told me they cancelled the service at that address and just needed my new address. Well, a month later I got a bill from a different trash company for my old address and found out that I didn't use Waste Management at our old location, and they never mentioned it to me once during our call that I wasn't an existing customer! They lied and told me they had my account pulled up and cancelled my service and were ready to set up my new location!
I am so angry I called our previous trash service to use them again. I don't want to use a trash company that would have been okay with me still paying another company. Now I am struggling to get ahold of anyone after selecting the prompt for "canceling service" It's been an hour and fifteen minutes and I'm still in queue!
What a NIGHTMARE COMPANY. Can't wait for the reply to this review telling me to call in. I'm trying! answer your phones!!
