Daniel A. Carnicella is an experienced Insurance and Financial Service Broker, and has been in the insurance and financial industry since 2001. From 2006 to 2009, he was a co-advisor on the 401K for Holy Name Medical Center in Teaneck NJ, and from 2009 until April 2013, he oversaw the 100 million dollar 401k account exclusively. Danny has established his own practice in Nutley in 2003. He educates several business owners and individuals alike on the insurance and financial products available in this dynamic market place.
Daniel is a 25-year resident of Nutley and graduated from Nutley high school in 1993. He is a graduate of Essex County College and attended Kean University in the study of Criminal Justice. He is president of DC Financial Group and a contracted agent for New York Life Insurance Company. Daniel is a proud father of his daughter Chelsea, a sophomore in Nutley High School and his fiancé Linda also has a child, Christian, who is part of the Autism Program at Lincoln School.
Volunteering has always played an important role in Daniel’s life. He is active with the Italian American Alliance, which is an organization, promoting Italian Heritage. The most noted event is the annual wine tasting awards dinner, featuring homemade wines produced from several of our Nutley residents. Danny is most proud of the Child ID event in 2008, which together with the Masons and the Parks and Recreation Department provided ID services for over 300 children in the community and provided a fun filled afternoon for everyone. Danny participated as a member of the Nutley Belleville Columbus Day Parade Committee and sponsored athletic teams in the community.
As a father, concerned resident and business owner I feel the time is right for me to build upon my role in the community, specifically, within the educational system that has afforded my family the benefit of a sound education. My life experiences and professional career have provided me with the tools necessary to contribute to an educational environment that is continuously improving each and every day. We must continue the progress underway and keep the momentum moving in a positive direction. A cooperative effort between the BOE, our teachers and administrators will insure the continuance of life changing programs, while remaining mindful of the balance between fiscal responsibility and excellence in education.
It is always difficult to forecast future dilemmas within our district. As a small business owner, I have learned to always lean on a side of caution in good times and in bad. Our volunteers here in Nutley must continue to be active and prevent complacency. Our role as board members is to ensure that we keep the good going, recognize when issues jeopardize the success of our educational system, and together with the community adapt to infuse the necessary ideas to promote the change needed to keep Nutley’s educational system enhanced and always putting our Nutley students first.
