Whent in for a quick bite from the deli hot prepared food area. Young girl behind the counter never smiled. Shopping cart wheels locked up, could only push it backwards. There chicken salad is great worth every penny. Take it home and spirit up,😋.User
Appropriate grocery selection filled with anti-depressant infused customers. Good for obtaining essentials if visiting for prolonged period. Strawberries were soft, avocados unripe, kiwis on point.User
Best place to shop in the Downtown area in my opinion. Best prices and quality of food. Very good fried chicken. The deli has better choices of food and quality. The people that work there are friendly and happy to serve you.User
One of the best and only large market serving the Core area and Gaslamp district of San Diego. Prices are competitive and it stays open all night. Pharmacy inside is one of the best around!User
Friday 9/29/2017 approx 6:05pm I was just there, used self check out, 3 items, no bag and on the way out, short female security guard let white people in front of me go by, but as a Hispanic with items in my hand, she asked for my receipt and I know they have to take their measures to prevent loss but I didn't see any signs that as a shopper I would be subject to humiliation? There has got to be a better way to do this without people having to feel SINGLED OUT!! Thankfully I kept my receipt but what if I had put it in the trash next to the check out?? Am I now stealing????
Re-arrange your lay out , where maybe self check out is closer to door or hire more personnel who can keep better track of who is paying and who's not, instead of having to humiliate your customers whom not because they're ethnic means they are there to steal!!User
This supermarket provide all fresh food you need. Even the chef will cook the fish you bought for free. When writing this review, I am still in San Diego And I have to say this has been the best market I have visited during my one month-stay in the USAUser
As a part of the Kroger chain (Like King Soopers/City Market in Colorado) they had many things we are familiar with. Plus...liquor is sold there too. Easy access for wheelchairs/scooters. This is downtown SD..a few homeless hanging around.User
A good clean supermarket. Great for travelers needing to pick something up. Prices were reasonable for the area. Bring your own bag or they will charge you 10 cents for one. User
I'm here often since I live close by. Usually pretty clean and stocked. Can be long waits for deli or seafood counters. Sometimes you stand there for 5 minutes and no one is around, or they are stocking meats on the shelves and they ignore you. Other than that it's great. 24 hours. Security. Not a ton of issues with the homeless. Lines are usually under control also which is nice User
I like how accessible everything is. Their produce is always fresh and their deli although super busy is always full of fresh salads (I love the Broccoli).
The staff are friendly and helpful. Their sales are awesome especially if you are participating in their rewards program. Finally the clearance section is always full of gems if you stop and lookUser
Another one of Kroger's great brands. Helpful staff and good prices on quality food. Expansive wine and beer selection.User
Decent parking for downtown and great selection of quality meats. Ask for prime steaks and the butcher will get you the best cuts of the day. Deli counter has good options for a quick meal and sushi is served all day. Cheese section is solid with a nice selection of Italian ingredients for cooking. User
Went to eat lunch at their deli section 2 days in a row. The first one I ordered a Turkey Powerhouse sandwich that was supposed to contain avocado and didn't have one slice of it inside. I almost got yelled at when I mention that maybe their deli sign should be corrected if the sandwich was NOT SUPPOSED to contain avocado slices, but still got them to add 2 avocado slices into my half-eaten sandwich. The second day went better but I had to wait for 30min to get my salad and sandwich, and on top of that got told that they can't fill up my water bottle directly (the environmental point of having a reusable bottle) because of contamination potential - it's a thermos bottle with a lid that can be opened all the way and in any way they get their water from a Coke machine...... I'm sure they mean well, but their service could be better, their use of recyclable containers more prominent and their rules more... Logical.
