FYI to single mothers with a baby, if you take your baby with you everywhere as I do because you don't have anyone to watch the baby, you will get denied service here.
I went in this past Friday and all I wanted was a haircut. I had my 5 month old son in his car seat and he was perfectly fine and asleep. The front desk told me they couldn't take me because of my baby and that she'd be more then happy to schedule me for another day. I then told her nevermind, I am the only one who watches the baby 24/7 and walked out. Ended up going to JCPenny to get a haircut. As my son slept throughout it all.

Always a great experience. The students are eager to learn and take their time to do any hair services the right way and to satisfaction. The prices are excellent, but most importantly giving a learning student the chance to become great at what they do! Excellent service and staff all around.

After waiting 45 minutes and everyone who walked in after me being taken back, I went to the desk to let them know I wouldn't be staying. They aplogized and took me right back and made everything ok. The color looks great however I got home and realized my face is stained with color and I also found globs of it in my ears! Too make it worse the red dye must have ran down the smock or through it and stained my favorite white shirt :/ it was already 9:45 when they finished my cut however I couldn't stay any later to have the stylist dry my hair and finish any additional cutting or thinning due to having a small child I needed to get home too. I never imagined a 6:30pm appointment would last until almost 10pm or actually later if everything was finished. I then had to walk in the dark and empty parking lot to the other end of the mall because the mall was closed.
    I will say,
My stylist was very sweet and did a fantastic job with getting my color exactly as I wanted and I'm sure once I dry and style my hair the cut will be great too. She offered for me to come back and she would fix anyrhing i wasn't happy with.

I just wish the front desk was more organized and the color job a bit less messy.

Bottom line, if you don't have 4 hours for color and a trim pay more at a full salon.

If you have 4 hours to waste and just want a simple textbook haircut then fine go here otherwise don't waste your time I have been here twice and both times is been a disaster the first time I was literally there for almost 7 hours to get my haircut in a new modern Bob where it's you know really short in the back and then angled down to the front and no one could figure out how to do this cut until finally the like tier 2 side teacher cut my hair but I was still there for seven hours I still tipped as much as my haircut just because I was happy to be able to walk out looking halfway decent the second time I go back the counter is not manned properly so you have to wait in line and then by the time I get to the front desk she tells me that I haven't made it in time for my haircut and refused to cut my hair well if you're going to keep people to a strict time adherence to be able to receive their haircut that they drove 30 minutes to go get then perhaps you should have more people at the front desk so they're not waiting in line missing their hair cut time this is the worst place I've ever been it was even worse than what I went to Aveda and so my advice is if you're looking to get an actual modern trendy haircut and don't want to waste your entire day doing so spend a little bit of extra money and go somewhere else

We got the and everything was great, the girls at the front desk were very friendly and helpful, we were taken at out our appointment time. Even my stylist was very nice and was able to hold a conversation while doing my hair. The problem was at the end. My hair was a lot darker then I asked for also very brassy. I was asked if I liked it and I saud it is not what I was expecting. I was told it could be the lighting. I paid, I tipped her because she did perform a service she was with me for over 2 hours. I looked at my hair in different lighting and still didn't like it. I read on the internet what to do if your hair comes out too dark and brassy. I get the Dawn Dish soap and go to the sink. As soon as I put my head under the water the color that has not been rinsed out properly ran down. I assume that if someone only has 2 weeks of school left, instructors have checked her rinsing skills before now. I don't think I will be going back.

I was shocked at the lack of professionalism. I understand they are in training, that is no excuse for rudeness. Joseph actually told us the hair looked like a home job and cut down my daughters hair. I was excited to show my daughter the advantages of going to a professional, she was confused on why they would insult her hair. The stylist was very nice. The receptionist and Joseph, "the teacher" made the experience so horrible. It's a shame they should lead by example with professionalism. Finding a hair stylist should be a positive experience. It's better to go to a professional salon for a pleasant experience. We gave it a try and learned not to ever go back.

TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE I HATE THE WHOLE PAUL MITCHELL COMPANY BECAUSE OF THIS SCHOOL. I ATTENDED THIS SCHOOL BACK IN 2012 UNTIL SPRING 2013 THE DEAN JENNY WAS BARELY SEEN AND HAD HER OWN MOOD SWINGS OF WHEN SHE WANTED TO INTERACT WITH STUDENTS OR NOT. THE ADMISSIONS JUST WANTED NUMBERS, THE FAT LADY IN FRONT DESK WAS MEAN TO EVERRRRRYYYONE HER NAME WAS JESSICA. THE "COUNSELOR" CYNDEE NEVER HAD TIME TO SPEAK TO ANYONES CONCERNS. WHEN SOMEONE STOLE MY PHONE FROM THE BREAKROOM SHE DIDNT EVEN WANT TO HELP SHE SAID IN HER NASAL VOICE "THATS WHY YOU LEAVE IT IN THE LOCKER" BUT YET I WAS TOLD BY HER IN CORE THAT THE BREAK ROOM WAS THE ONLY PLACE WE CAN HAVE OUR PHONES BUT ONE GETS STOLEN IN THERE AND THE COULDN'T REPLAY THE CAMERA FROM THE LAST 5 MINUTES.....BUT MRS. JENNY HAD A FLAT SCREEN PLASMA IN FRONT OF HER DESK WITH THE SURVEILLANCE PLAYING.WHEN I WANTED TO SET UP MY APPOINTMENT WITH CYNDEE SHE QUESTIONED ME IF I WAS SURE I HAD COMPLETED EVERYTHING IN ORDER TO SET UP AN APPOINTMENT IN A RUDE ATTITUDE, SHE NEVER QUESTIONED ANYBODY BEFORE.... AND YES I EXCEED AND FINISHED BEFORE ANYONE IN MY CORE... NO SERVICES, 100% ON EVERY THEORY TEST, 1300 HOURS COMPLETED AND NO MONEY OWED BECAUSE I SHOWED UP EVERY SINGLE DAMN DAY....BUT I STILL WAS TREATED LIKE I WAS STUPID AND COULDN'T FINISH BUT MAYBE THAT WAS THE RACISM I HEARD ABOUT WHEN I STARTED. ALSO FINANCIAL AID WAS A JOKE THEY LOST MORE THAN TWO OF MY FRIENDS PAPERWORK TO THE STATE!!! WHO THE HELL DOES THAT!!! I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN WHEN SHE OFFERED US TO CHANGE OURS HOURS FROM 1300(which is over state limit) to 1200( the legal amount of hours of completion) SHE FORGOT TO CHANGE THE REQUEST FOR MY FRIEND WHO TOOK THE OFFER AND WAS STUCK ANOTHER 100 HOURS AND PUSHED BACK HER PLANS OF LEAVING THE STATE. ASHLEY COOKSON IS VERY FORGETFUL. IM NOT AS UPSET FOR NOT TAKING THE 1200 HOURS ANYMORE BECAUSE REGARDLESS SHE WOULD HAVE FORGOT ANYWAYS SO I WAS STUCK AN EXTRA 100 HOURS OF TORTURE IN THE END. NOT ONLY THAT BUT THE ROOF LEAKS EVERYWHERE THE PLACE WAS FALLING DOWN INTO PIECES BUT YET THEY CHARGED EVERY PENNY FOR TUITION, PRODUCTS, AND SERVICES. I HAD TO PAY FOR EVERY ONCE OF PRODUCT OR MANNEQUIN HEADS AFTER PAYING $14,500 TUITION. I SPENT OVER $15,000 ON MY EDUCATION AND I FEEL AS IF I NEVER LEARNED ANYTHING. THE ONLY PEOPLE WHO SUCCEEDED IN THIS SCHOOL WERE THE ONES ABLE TO BUY THEIR WAY AROUND. FOR INSTANCE, CAPER, WHICH DAYTON CLEARLY SPECIFIED THAT PARENTS COULDN'T BUY PRODUCTS FOR THE CONTEST AND ONE WEEK LATER SOME GIRLS DADDY BOUGHT ALL THE BAGS.....AND LEE APPROVED IT. GUEST ARTIST ON TUESDAYS WAS ALWAYS JOKE, ESPECIALLY THE REPEATED SONNY DEE WHICH RUMORS WENT AROUND SAYING HE DATED STUDENTS. IM NOT SURPRISED...HE KEPT FLIRTING WITH MY FRIEND AT THE HALLOWEEN HAIR SHOW...WHILE HE WAS INTOXICATED. AND TO TOP IT OFF THE PAUL MITCHELL PRODUCTS ARE 100% TERRIBLE. YOU WOULD THINK ALL THAT MONEY THEY WOULD HIRE BETTER CHEMIST TO CREATE UP TO DATE PRODUCTS INSTEAD OF THE OLD 1980 FORMULAS. FOR THE TEACHERS WHO ACTUALLY CARED... CARRIE, DREA, STEPHANIE, RALPH,CLIFF, KOREN AND JULIE ARE THE ONLY ONES WHO CARED FOR THE STUDENTS. MOST I HEARD WERE LUCKY ENOUGH TO QUIT. I WISH THAT I SHOULD HAVE DROVE AN HOUR TO GO TO AVEDA. THIS IS JUST A BRIEF SUMMARY OF MY EXPERIENCE TRUST ME THERE IS MORE.... IF I CAN FIND A WAY TO SHUT THIS SCHOOL DOWN FOR GOOD I WOULD.

UPDATE: just recently I was going over my license and I realized my extra 100hrs were never honored either. What a scam.

I had a 6 pm appointment for hair color. I arrived at 5:22 pm, was checked around 5:30 pm. I watched several women who were walk ins get serviced first. Everyone kept telling me 5 minutes. I waited patiently and the final straw was walk in that wanted tri-coloring serviced before me. I walked out at 6:20 pm. I will not attempt to go back after being treated so shabbily.

I called to make an appointment, the person who answered asked if she could put me on a brief hold. After being placed on hold for over 30 minutes, I finally hung up. I'll be taking my business else where. I just find it hilarious that the recording goes on and on about "professional, quality care and extraordinary guest experiences" 🙄

I went for a simple cut to have my hair trimmed with no change in style. The student misunderstood what I said and I attribute a lot of that to her lack of questions and failure to communicate with me. Upon showing me her final results I saw that she gave me a mullet, dried my hair in a way that left the ends looking like they haven't been trimmed in years, and a blow-out that left me looking 20 years older. The minute I expressed my disapproval, the student disconnected from me and she didn't acknowledge me for the rest of my visit. An instructor stepped in to do damage control and continued to ignore my requests as I repeatedly expressed what I wanted. I walked out with my hair more than 4" shorter then when I walked in the door, a horrible cut/style, 90 minutes wasted in the chair, soaked clothes (I got soaked from the shampooing) and the need to get my hair cut from a capable stylist. I expected a lot more from the Paul Mitchell name in both quality of style and how I was treated.
