Outpost Optical and Rabbitt Family Vision Center is a family practice in the true sense of the word. Dr. Dan Rabbitt, having been in the business 19 years, along with his father Dale Rabbitt, with more than 49 years of experience, opened Outpost Optical in February of 1998 at the Outpost Mall in North Sioux City.

Our one-on-one approach to optometry makes Dr. Rabbitt and the Outpost Optical and Rabbitt Family Vision Center staff the eye and vision care providers of choice in the Sioux City area. Our optometrist offers the following services: Complete Eye Exams, Contact Lenses, Glasses, Vision Therapy, Glaucoma testing and care, Diabetic eye care, along with pre and post-operative care for Lasik and Cateract Surgeries.

Went in for two apt. was very friendly and explained every thing to us,Never had such a complete eye exam, they checked every thing, helped pick out glasses told us everything our insurance would pay and if we wanted something different what our cost would be. They called when they were in and they made sure the glasses fit just right, will tell friend what great service we received. the staff very friendly . Great Job!

We took our 2 year old daughter there and Dr. Rabbitt and his team her so awesome with her they got down on her level and helped her woth every thing. Thry were amazing and so patient

Such a great experience! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Dr. Rabbitt was very good at explaining the tools he was using and what he was seeing with my eyes. I needed new frames and lens and Jeff and Lori were so helpful in helping me find the perfect ones! I love my knew glasses! I will definitely be going back!

I love going here and seeing Dr. Rabbit. He's always so friendly and works with me to make sure I get what I need. After trying many different types of contacts through the years; acuvue, air optics, colors, I was getting annoyed with how my eyes would feel after taking them out. My eyes would itch, they'd be bright red and I wouldn't be able to put contacts in for a few days due to my eyes being so sore. (I hate wearing glasses, so having to wear them was very annoying). Then he knew exactly what would work for me! He recommended dailies aqua comfort plus. I was hesitant because I thought it was wasteful getting out a new pair everyday, and expensive, but I was so fed up I gave it a shot. Now I couldn't be happier! Good bye soaking contacts for 6+ hours and buying solution every month. I absolutely love my dailies aqua comfort plus. My eyes feel so much better!

I have been to several different eye doctors in the Sioux City area; and I Outpost Optical is hands down the greatest by far. They're quick, friendly and always have smiles on their faces. They have always treated me with so much respect, and have always done everything in their power for my vision needs. I wouldn't go anyplace else. Thank you all for being so wonderful! Not many people can say "I love going to the eye doctors" but I sure can!

Worst lens I've ever had. Last year I got a $900.00 pr of glasses. Everything was blurry. I went back.. They re-examined...said not enough difference to change...lens cracked 3 times...these were their #1 lens. Its been over a year and I can't see clearly with my glasses. Difficult to read...watch tv...drive... I have worn glasses since 1st grade. .went through vision changes and new glasses and never had a problem. I've always seen better after I received new glasses not worse. So now I'm stuck with $900.00 glasses that all I see is blurred vision. They were unwilling to make this right after complaining many times. They said it was the way I looked through the lens. Nope

Went in for a new contact prescription. Took the exam and was asked to pick out a pair of GLASSES. Told them no I called here and set up an appointment for contacts. Was then fold it would be 2 weeks for that appointment to happen. I needed to see so paid for the glasses I didn't want. Paid 20 extra toward the 50 dollar purchase of contacts (The price I was quoted). Came 2 weeks later did the exam, pulled out 30 to pay the rest and was told that I actually still owed 30 more. I said no but I will give you 50 just get the Dr. And I am sure he will fix this. Missed my bus home to explain to the doctor why I shouldn't owe that much and he said well we will take the 50 and order your contacts. You come in with the 10 dollars you don't want to pay and pick em up. I said I was told already that you have em here so now you are just playing for stupid. I let you guys hold 20. And you don't trust me for 10 doctor said I've been doing this alot if years and nobody would pay that 10. I opened my wallet dug through about 680 dollars for an extra 10 and said it wasn't about money it was about principles. Not going back.
