Out of the 3 Japanese supermarkets in this neighborhood, Nijiya is my favorite. Fresh produce, quality meats, friendly staff. It might be the smallest but it always has everything I need. They also have the best section of premade foods.

It has a great, variety, friendly staff, and good prices. Only thing is some merchandise doesn't have translation.

I enjoyed the service from the staff and the reasonable bargains. The parking (depending on the time) isn't always the best. But the variety of Japanese food (salmon, onigiri ,karaga chicken) is pretty reasonable and makes up for that.

Fall more and more in love with this market! Parking can be a bit if a pain at times. But it's worth a trip! Their sushi rolls, baked goods, and bento boxes are delicious and reasonably priced. There are a lot of organic options and my son loves riding in their "car" shopping carts 😊

A fun Japanese Market that we love shopping in when we are in the Convoy area of San Diego! Right as you come in you'll see lots of fresh produce, items from Japan. The aromas of Japanese food will drive you to the back of the store where you'll find lots of yummy options hot & cold.

Prices seem a little high until you notice the quality and some surprising deals. It's Japanese, so everything is VERY plastic wrapped, and then they wrap items in more plastic at check out. .. before placing them like delicate artifacts into your bags. The selection is very legit, and I wish I had a guide to know what to buy :-D

Plenty of fresh sushi grade fish options and everything Japanese. Produce is all organic and expensive. They have Matsutaki Mushrooms for $20/lb. Didn't find any Yuzu-kosho.

Nijiya Market is still your best choice for Japanese groceries in southern California. Their values are a little less than just 5 years ago; especially for sushi and Japanese cake-roll. However, no one in the area--not even Mitsuwa--matches their combination of choice and value. They need a store in Oceanside, to fill in the gap between San Diego and Industry, CA (East L.A.).

Not a very large market so it didn't take too long to visit around. A lot of fresh sea food here every day. Restaurants within the market are all good.

Wonderful place but I have to bring my winter jacket plus scarf to shop there. Kinda weird in the middle of summer but it is always freezing in that store.

A very clean grocery store for imported Japanese foods, goods, and more. A large ready to eat section is available.

Great Japanese market with a lot of organic produce options. Their sashimi grade fish is always fresh and delicious. They have a lot of high quality pre-made sushi meals in to go containers that are fairly inexpensive. This is my favorite Asian market in SD.

Nice little Japanese Experience. Sushi ready for those that want to make it at home. Plenty of fresh vegetables and fruits. Great selection of tea. Prepared lunches are excellent. My three stars are based on price. Nijiya is expensive. Many of the products are cheaper elsewhere.
