Description
The mission of the MHAFB SAC is to...
SUPPORT and advise local school districts and strengthen the relationship between schools and the military community.This is accomplished by presenting ideas and programs to the MHSD school board. As well as, assisting schools with volunteer projects through our school liaison officer.
ADVOCATE by staying informed and providing a voice for students and families on issues affecting military children and educational "best practices. We also take the time to recognize outstanding educators and provide them with materials and professional development with quarterly and annual awards. We will also research and share successful educational programs.
COMMUNICATE Our goal is to foster communication between military parents and guardians, school personnel/administrators, and school board members, and to connect military family members with local citizens in the creation and staffing of volunteer-based educational initiatives. We also aim to educate military parents on district and federal policies and programs such as impact aid. Lastly, we also want to identify and convey areas of concern that our military families may have.
