Description

Kim Hitchye was a stockbroker in Los Angeles when she re-connected with a childhood friend by the name of Monty McFadden, who was a mortician in Hope, AR. After over 20 years of disconnection, Monty and Kim discovered that they were in pursuit of the same vision, based on the same foundation.

The foundation was Proverbs 13:22, "A good man leaves an inheritance for his children's children.” Monty is the father of twin daughters, Amber and Shauna McFadden, who lost their mother at the tender of age of 12 years old in 2002. After becoming a single parent and the grandparent of Monica Bobo, Monty was inspired to apply the skills he inherited to change the future of generations to come. This same sense of motivation drove Kim to use education to overcome losing her father at a young age and to raise her two children, Jahmohn and Keisha.

Furthermore, Monty is the grandchild of Roland Hicks, who started the first African-American funeral home in Hope, AR over 80 years ago (Hicks Funeral Home). Kim is the grandchild of Corine Hytche, a 99 year-old retired nurse of Flint, MI who was born in Gum Springs, AR and moved to Hope, AR in her latter years.

All in all, Monty and Kim's vision was to create a successful business and to exercise philanthropic efforts. Hence, they combined their 30 years of experience in the financial and insurance industry, and 30 years of experience in the funeral service industry to create McFadden & Hitchye Funeral Enterprises (M & H). M & H educates young professionals, provides superior customer service, and stands for economic funeral practices.

Over the years, M & H has served a diverse range of families. Monty's gifted embalming and funeral directing skillset inspired Kim to go back to school to become a Licensed Embalmer and Funeral Director. In May 2016, she graduated with high academic and social distinction making M & H and the community proud.
