Description

We founded Invisible Children in 2004 with a focused mission to end Africa’s longest running conflict, led by Joseph Kony and his Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) rebels. The goal was specific, but it always embodied a much larger idea: that our liberty is bound together.

Since we started we’ve united local and international experts, policymakers, and global activists to reduce LRA killings by more than 90%, help hundreds of child soldiers escape captivity, and to this day, our work is protecting thousands from violence.

As we continue to pursue and end to LRA violence, we are working hand-in-hand with resilient central African community leaders to expand our programs and ensure that even more of our world’s most isolated and vulnerable communities and their environments are free from violence and exploitation.
