The gentleman that checked me in was nice enough, the room was large and the bed was very comfortable. Beyond that, the experience left much to be desired.
The room being large is nice but the condition and amenities weren't good. There was a large stress crack running through our room along the floor and up and across the ceiling. The same crack tracked from the bedroom into the living room area. Proof of the compromise came with an inability to close the bedroom door, as the door frame was compressed and there was another stress crack above it. If not for my wife being very ill and needing rest I would probably have requested different accommodations.
I don't want to start nitpicking other areas because other small things wouldn't have bothered me as much, had they existed on their own. Combined with the structural concerns, general lack of atmosphere (it felt very empty), and basic amenities found at larger chains (Inn at the Black Olive calls itself a boutique) the experience was just not good and I struggle to see how they are classified as a 4 star.
I'm sure there will be many who love it, and that's okay. However, for me one stay is enough and I don't plan to reserve another or recommend it to those i know.
It was great. John checked us in and was very nice and funny. He was helpful and told us a few places to check out. The room was the size of an apartment. The jacuzzi was perfect for 2. The place is older, the decor was homey. It wasn't ceasars but it was perfect. I enjoyed it there.
Terrible experience staying here. Seems like the hotel has totally fallen apart. Rooms were falling apart. The people at the front desk were unhelpful and basically useless. We booked a few rooms and two of them had their air conditioning broken. No one had bothered to check if the AC was working before we moved in. The hotel was not helpful at all at fixing this problem. The rooms were not ready when they were supposed to be when we checked in and there was no cleaning service the entire time we were there. Would definitely NOT stay here again.
This place was terrible. We were fooled by the ratings, it doesn't even deserve one star. The room looked like a dirty hut in Mexico, the jacuzzi tub didn't work, the heat didn't work, the phone didn't work, the water was rusty. Everything was terrible. The staff at the desk was very friebdly but could do nothing to fix any of the problems. Over 10 attempts were made to contact thale manager, Tiffany, and we never heard back from her during or after our stay. Horrible horrible place. Don't stay there! Don't be fooled by the ratings- they are likely staff and friends. No way anyone could rate this 4 or 5 stars if they actually stayed there.
The hotel rooms here are very spacious and comfortable. The bed was absurdly comfortable. One important note is that the HVAC removes all pollens and allergens.
Additionally, all the furniture and decor were both classy looking and comfy. No complaints at all, this was a fabulous hotel. It would be fine to bring kids, but better for a romantic getaway.
Organic through and through.
Had dinner here several times and it's always a memorable experience. Had the diver scallops on more than one occasion and it's always simply done but flavorful and melt in your mouth delicious. Served on a bed of mixed organic greens with a light homemade dressing and it's the perfect summer dish. Bread, soft, organic, and delicious. You name it, it's organic even down to the drinks! You'll never look at ordinary cocktails the same. You can go for a glass of organic wine as well just to keep the experience consistent. If you get a chance to meet the owner Dimitris you are no for a treat. He's gracious, down-to-earth and will do anything to make your experience pleasurable.
