This hotel is really noce. The decorum is sort of like a posh derby, which is representative of a part of Maryland culture (Preakness). The bed was comfortable. No key card issues. The pool and gym are a modest size, but efficient. The food they served during the event was good. The staff was respectful and kind. There was ample parking. It was diagonally across the street from a really nice shopping center. There's lots of shopping available there as well as a Wegmans market and some restaurants.
Went to Hunt Valley for a conference, and stayed at this hotel. When we arrived, we waited over an hour for our rooms to be cleaned, but once we were able to go to our rooms they were spacious and clean. One thing I was extremely annoyed about was the Starbucks in the hotel. First, it is extremely expensive. Second, I ordered a cappuccino and paid. The receipt had the option tip, but I felt a tip was very unnecessary for this. The cashier decided to charge my card extra for her tip even though I put zero, and signed. It was only a dollar she added to my bill, so I didn’t go to the front desk because I didn’t notice it until I looked at my receipts from the day that night. If you don’t wanna be scammed by the hotel or staff from the hotel Starbucks, I suggest going across the street to the shopping center for coffee, or breakfast instead.
Nice hotel that they've updated but for the money you pay it's not worth it. No breakfast just restaurants/coffee shop. You request a fridge and they'll bring one to you if they have any. Outside sidewalks/stairs cracked. Leaves not picked up. Great location.
This is clearly an older hotel but it has a lot of character with the brick walls and old school design that is spread out rather than up. Lobby, lounges, and bar were very well done and very upscale. Rooms lacked a mini fridge which seems to be kinda standard now. The room and bed was comfortable and I felt safe. I thought it was an above average hotel and a good deal for the price.
This has got to be the most beautiful hotel i have ever stayed in. The rooms were amazing. The lobby was so beautiful and the staff was so friendly. They went above and beyond to make sure that we were happy and had everything we needed. The location was wonderful. They were located in the center of everything and surrounded by shopping centers. This is a definite gem!!
Stayed here for an event (Fairiecon). Hotel itself is lovely, the horse/ hunter theme of the decor is unique and tastefully done, down to small details like side tables with bases of leather and buckles. Very clean, comfy beds & puffy comforters. The only negative was the buffet dinner offered at the restaurant for the event - salad greens were wilted, beef stew was not warm enough & not much flavor. In short, definitely stay here, but consider eating elsewhere.
Here as a vendor for the Faeriecon event, and the people are friendly and facilities clean and roomy, if a bit old fashioned in the main spaces. Still, I'd stay here overnight and happily so if I didn't live close enough to go home each night.
Stopped by the Delta Hotel for lunch at the Cinnamon Tree restaurant. The menu is limited but the food was really good. I had a chicken quesadia and my wife had a bacon cheese burger. I would recommend this place if you are in the area.
I am giving this place five stars, because I loved the cleanliness of the room and the hotel staff. I only stayed one night, but I managed to leave some very special family jewelry (necklace and earrings I wore on my wedding day). I felt for sure that they were gone, but I was assured by the head of housekeeping, Fran, that she would find them and ship them to me. Fran was responsive and prompt with returning my special items and was such a pleasure speaking to on the phone. This is by far the best hotel experience I have had- due to this incident. Thank you Fran!
Rooms were clean and decorated well. Gym was a nice size. The bar outside the lobby was a great place to hang out and regroup. Staff was friendly and I always saw someone doing something at all times to maintain or make the place better. I stayed across the street at a competitor's hotel and regretted every second of it. The Delta is the place to stay in Hunt Valley!
Poor customer service. Made reservation, requesting room near elevator. On arrival, instead was given room far from elevator. Was told there were no closer rooms available. And, that they don't guarantee rooms or set aside rooms for guests. One of our party (disabled) insisted on a closer room or else the hotel would be responsible for any resultant health issues or ER trips because of the distance to the lobby. What a wonder ... within 45 minutes they were able to find a room MUCH closer to the elevator!!! It was interesting that when a late checkout was requested due to health reasons, the front desk checked room availability and our room was spoken for so we could not get an extension (see above statement that rooms are NOT set aside!!!). Also, why don't they air condition their hallways? Temp was miserable in many areas.
Clean facilities considering the sheer number of attendees. Staff has always been very attentive. The waitstaff at the restaurant in the hotel is excellent.
The Hunt Valley Inn is amazing and it is fancy and the restaurant is FANTASTIC. The people here are really nice, the chef in the restaurant is so nice he made a dish specially without stuff that we could not eat, the food is AMAZING. From my room if I looked out the window I could see the pool. The pool is warm and you can go outside WITHOUT leaving the water.
While the size of the rooms is nice and the location is pretty nice in relation to shopping and dining, they have a dust and/or mold problem in their vents. I attended a 3-day convention here and ended up horribly sick, by the 3rd day I could barely speak or breathe due to the allergic response my body had. Several others who attended the event reported similar experiences, including my traveling companions. I ended up having to take a day off of work and was on steroids for a week to recover from the ordeal. And yes, the doctor confirmed that it was allergies, not a contagious illness picked up from someone else, and as soon as I got home I started feeling better; seeing as I spent almost the entirety of those 3 days inside the facility, clearly the allergic reaction came from something inside the hotel. As such, I won't be staying there for the convention next year, I'll stay elsewhere and just commute to the convention center.
Very nice accommodations, no complaints. Mostly caters to business travelers and convention type events. Don't come here with your family -- the pools are closed during the day and clientele are not here for fun. On the up side, staff are super-friendly and well-trained, and will always smile and greet you.
