We know that the planet, the global environment, the people and economies of the world are facing some serious issues. The production of food currently is the world's largest producer of pollution. The majority of the food produced on the planet is toxic to grow and usually unhealthy to consume. The planet's waters and soils are depleted, polluted, and getting worse. One of the main motivators for us is saving water. California is in a record drought. The number one user of water is agriculture, nearly all of which is extremely inefficient and wasteful.

We need solutions that will address these problems, and we believe they currently already exist. We simply need help in implementing them.

At present we provide classes and workshops on sustainable food production using various methods. We are putting in backyard food systems and consulting on how to use them. We are working and researching to find the most water saving, nutrient dense, clean, and most efficient ways to grow and use food.

Now we want to step it up. We want to expand our operation into commercial scale food production. We are working with the owners of a commercial greenhouse facility right in the urban Bay Area to establish a food growing operation that utilizes a technique called aquaponics. Put simply, aquaponics is the combination of aquaculture (the raising of fish) with hydroponics (growing plants without soil). The fish waste is used to fertilize the plants and the plants and bacteria filter the water that returns to the fish.
