Description
Hello, the Boniek family would like to introduce ourselves as the new owners of Copper Valley Air Service in Glennallen, Alaska. As you may know, we have been involved for many years with the air taxi business in Alaska as employees of Wrangell Mountain Air in McCarthy. Prior to that, we have had two other FAA Part 135 Air Taxi certificates since the early ‘90s. We are very excited to have been able to purchase this business and look forward to serving the Copper River Basin and the Wrangell-St. Elias National Park area. We will continue to provide the “mail plane” service twice weekly from Gulkana to McCarthy and May Creek as well as other flights on an “on demand” basis. We have added two additional aircraft to the two that came with the business to better serve the area.
On a personal note, we will continue to work with Wrangell Mountain Air this summer, with Martin as pilot/mechanic, Laura and Rebecca dispatching, and Johann offering moral and technical support! We will be splitting our time this spring between Colorado and Alaska and full time in Alaska again this summer.
We would like to thank the many people who have made this possible: Kelly Bay and Natalie Bay, for understanding and encouragement, Don and Lyn Welty for getting the flying done in the difficult winter months, Jay Claus for yeoman’s work of covering the hard weather flying when Don was gone, Paul and Donna Claus, Ultima Thule Lodge, for the lease of a plane while we get a new one ready, among others including John Gregory, Bill Lehman, all the helpful people in McCarthy, Fred Denner, John Gregory, Tod and Anna Hand, and many more.
