Description

The Inland Empire "Squadron" was founded in 1989. At that time it was located in Rialto, CA and was not doing very well. A group from Corona, CA took it over and moved the headquarters to the Corona airport. The four members who were responsible for this action were Art Seidler, Lyle Page, Bob Hemborg and Don Helms, seen in the photo below, taken in December 1990.
The first plane assigned to the Squadron was the L-4F, in 1991, and then the Ryan PT-22, in 1992. The Squadron moved to the Riverside Airport in 1994, and became the Inland Empire Wing. Today we have approximately 87 members, and of course, are always looking for new recruits!
All members become "Colonels" once they join the CAF. One Saturday each month we have a "Hangar Day" and welcome any volunteers to come help with the many jobs around the hangar - including sweeping the floors! There's always work to be done!
